The Return of Pryce “The Skater” Holmes In Classic Griptape’s Salmon of the Year Video

Like the ancient French Canadian proverb goes, “Impossible is only a skate trick.” Chuck and Classic Grip’s team of scientists did the impossible and actually managed to make the waning days of 2021 — when everyone else was spiraling from their March 2020 PTSD — look like a good time.

This one is a lil’ late New Year edit from Classic Griptape, featuring a grip to Stafhon Boca and Will Marshall appearances, plus …honestly cannot believe I’m about to type this… the return of Pryce Holmes footage to the QS front page. Starting to cry of joy now. Have a good one 🥲

Rest in Peace Virgil ❤️

Skate Jawn has a feature on Jody’s Spot, the D.I.Y. spot built by Fred Gall in his New Jersey hometown, which the world first saw in his “Out There.” Please sign the petition to keep the spot from being destroyed by the city for no good reason.

Put Will Marshall’s line at the Museum — as seen in his new Dime part — in the Museum Line Hall of Fame. Kickflip front crook is insane too.

Best city for skate edits in 2021? Marseilles, no doubt. Here’s #anotherone from the Raskal dudes: “Hellos Dias.”

YEOOO! The Will Marshall Crazy T Remix

We have posted Mr. Marshall’s “YEEEO!” on the QS IG story every Friday at midnight for about two years now. It has been a way to usher in the upcoming weekend; hearing it releases a jolt of serotonin. It means skating, friends, good times, laughs, and maybe an adult beverage or two are ahead. For at least a few proceeding seconds, you forfeit the right to be upset: “YEEEEO!”

(The clip is from Dime’s Knowing Mixtape 2 video, to answer perhaps the most-DM’d question in the QS inbox.)

But Will is more than just an announcer of good times. As you likely know, he is profoundly insane at skateboarding, and to commemorate his talents + wrap this summer season of fun, we have enlisted the services of Tyler Warren — no stranger to the curation of good times himself — to remix Will’s footage from the past two or three years.

‘B-Team Documentary’ by Classic Griptape

Making it through 2020 with a morsel of mental health in tact has required all of us to look for silver linings. For most, this meant reconnecting with those we may have fallen out of touch with, due to the hectic pace of pre-COVID life. For the Classic Grip office, it meant rekindling the flame with a childhood flatbar, taking it on a cross-country journey, and giving it the best summer of its life with a ragtag team of Canadian heart-throbs in tow (who you will recognize from Alltimers, Dime et al. edits.)

“B-Team Documentary” is a modern road film masterpiece — an Easy Rider for the the coronavirus age, Thelma & Louise if Louise was a 10-inch-high flat bar bought from a Canadian Tire, or simply Paris, Texas on a skateboard ♥

Alltimers’ ‘Bounce’ Video

Just as Warren Buffett off-loaded his shares in airlines given the foreseeable future of travel, skate companies have began doing the same with their stockades of footage from pre-COVID19 trips. Any clips from far-off lands coming out once we hit the dog days of the pandemic are bound to be dated by default — like, anyone who switched their pants game up in quarantine is gonna have a tough time convincing the skateboarding public that their Euro footage wearing last year’s silhouettes is current ;)
