The disclaimer in the Memorial Day Weekend clip wasn’t a joke…

Here’s a @wavey_dada A.K.A. Josh Velez part filmed throughout the past winter and spring. He’s skating a bit faster, in slightly more fitted clothing, and with less flip-in-shove-it-out tricks since his $20 Off No Tax part, but he’s still a total cutie nonetheless. Watch below as he dispels all purported myths about the impossibility of working downtown New York retail and still skating productively on days off. If you’re into the part, follow him on Instagram — it’ll mean mean the world to him. Have a good weekend. Don’t go over there!

Contributing filmer: Andre Page. Guest tricks from Ritch Swain and Elijah Cole.

Start of Summer / Memorial Day Weekend 2013 Montage

Not much of a “first weekend of summer,” but oh well…

After temporarily maxing out with the Forrest Edwards re-edit, we took an example from the recent direction of Baker Boys music supervision. Filmed from January through maybe one day ago, hence substantial greenery increases between varying Columbus Circle clips. Be back on Tuesday. Have a good weekend.

Features Keith Denley AKA Chief Keith, Andre Page, Luis Tolentino, Ben Nazario, Galen Dekemper, Dave Cado, Matthew Perez, Kadeem Walters, Ryan Chin, Lui Elliot, Ritch Swain, Elijah Cole, Jonathan, Josh Velez, Brendan Carroll, Brian Clarke, Sweet Waste, Connor Champion, Tyler Tufty, and Thando Beschta.

Oh, last but not least: Free Amanda Bynes! She got arrested for throwing a bong out of a 36th story window in midtown.

Merry Christmas

east 73rd st

Merry Christmas everybody. Here’s our annual mostly midtown / Christmas light footage / non-rap clip. Comes complete with two backpack lines and more tricks on three/four stair handrails than ever before. “I done seen everything today!”

In case you guys didn’t know, during annual Christmas music research for this clip, the fact that the Ying Yang Twins have a Christmas album came to light. Needless to say, it’s incredible. At least for the first minute or so. (Here’s another good one.)

Features: Alexander Mosley, Black Dave A.K.A. Black Santa, Tyshawn Jones, TJ’s homie (sorry for not getting your name), Gavin Nolan, Eli Reed, Josh Velez, Ritch Swain, Roctakon, Pad Dowd, Ty Lyons, Tyler Tufty, Dustin Eggeling, Keith Denley, Sweet Waste, Pryce Holmes, Pat Edge, Torey Goodall, Brendan Carroll, Matthew Mooney, Jack Sabback, Kevin Tierney, Brian Clarke, and Andre Page.

Contributing filmers: Joe Bressler, Jeff Ricker, Andre Page, Josh Velez. Thank you.

Alternate YouTube Link. Just an FYI for mobile users: YouTube will *not* play the video on iPhones, etc. because of third party content (i.e. uncleared music.) It should, however, work on Vimeo. YouTube poorly words their disable notice by making it seem like the uploader is preventing it for mobile playback as opposed to the company who owns the music.

This is the eighth one. In case you haven’t been keeping up, here are some relevant links to past Christmas clips: 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005.

Normally, at this time of year, all we would have to show for the past three-and-a-half months is a few trips to Below the Bridge, one trip to Drop-In, several nights of pretending to skate at House of Vans, an elaborate Geo Moya blooper reel, and a clinched playoff spot at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Given 2012’s generosity in climate (the party ends for a bit tomorrow, by the way), we actually had a few nights in midtown, several trips to Flushing (one resulting in an E.J. anxiety attack due to being too far from the T.F.), mad footage of the Tompkins cones, and a wasted bottle of champagne. The bottom-half playoff seeding is still the same.

Contributing filmers: Andre Page & Richard Quintero.

Features: Josh Velez, Ritch Swain, Tyler Tufty, Sweet Waste, Andre Page, Billy McFeely, Pad Dowd, Vladimir Kirilenko, Emilio Cuilan, Negative, Brandon Bramhall, Ty Lyons, Brian Kelley, Rodney Sterling, Rob Gonyon, Jack Sabback, Roctakon, Galen DeKemper, Haffa, Carmelo Anthony, Iman Shumpert, J.R. Smith.

Mooney was locked up while this clip was being filmed, hence his lack of footage.

Fall Flip Cam / iPhone Wave

Hopefully, you came up on a $65 Flip Cam last month, and have been stacking clips with it ever since. The following is a clip filmed with that very same device, and its slightly more ubiquitous cell phone counterpart, the iPhone. The clip features the first public documentation of Ty’s critically acclaimed “white person” Halloween costume. (“What are you supposed to be?” “White.”) Whether or not it surpasses Drake and garbage, the other two crowd favorites from Halloween 2011, is your call. Edited to one of the best posse songs in recent history. Sorry French, we didn’t have enough footage to include your verse.

Features Jake Johnson, Alexander Mosley, Lil’ Steven, Andre Page, Emilio Cuilan, Brendan, Luke Malaney, Ritch Swain, Brian Kelley, Ty Lyons, Sweet Waste, Will Carpio, Ben Nazario, Alex, Dario Phillips, Torey Goodall (yes, that footage is from before that spot was “occupied”), and Josh Velez. Filmed by Josh Velez.

Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving. We’ll be back on Friday.
