Summer Gotta End Someday Yo

East River Park south of Delancey opened on Friday. This means that the bridge that once lead to Alligator Ledge is back, although — brace yourself for bad news — it will not feature an Alligator Ledge. It does, however, include some suburban parking lot manny pads.

📅 1) Naquan & crew crew are hosting a skate jam with Thrasher at the Red Hook Skatepark tomorrow (9/9) @ 3 P.M. Flyer here. 2) Asics will be premiering their new video by Jacob Harris, A Guided Tour, at Palace Bar in Greenpoint this Thursday @ 8 PM. 21+. Flyer here.

“Will Steve Rodriguez and Gotham Park ultimately need to petition city hall to install a higher-yet rail or add several kinks? Does Antonio Durao’s membership in the rarified club of street handrail switch backside noseblunters put him on track to join the yet-more exclusive cadre of street handrail switch kickflip backside noseblunters?” …yeah, um, about that. Boil the Ocean wrote about how good the skateboarding going down at the Banks 2.0 is.

Casgrain Pain

There are a lot of banger recaps from Glory Challenge, but Naquan made the best one of all-around vibes.

Naquan also made a sick mini Amir Denis part. Smith at Cadman was lovely.

The summertime Tompkins edits have started to come in as the high-season winds down: 1)$$$seven” by [yes, third link in a row] Naquan Rollings, which includes a triumphant return-to-NY back tail by Coles Bailey on the most inventive T.F. obstacle of the New Asphalt Era. 2) Japanese homies Joetaro Saito + Aoto Yoroi doing some of the flowiest lines all throughout the park by Shaquille Waite.

Choose The Sword, And You Will Go To The Banks, Choose The Ball, And You Join Your Friends At The Beach

Mike Sass uploaded a raw reel from one of 2025’s best New York parts [or anywhere-parts, for that matter]: Neil Herrick 5Ball Re-Rack. Love when you can feel the intentionality in raw file editing v.s. it feeling like a footage dump. Best of all …they just decided to throw in an entire bonus part at the end. Some of that footy is way to good to be sitting at the last two minutes of an eighteen-minute timeline. [16:30 mark.]

Krooked returned to its Gnaughty and Gnar Gnar roots and got the lo-def camera out for “Weirdo 01,” a bro cam excursion to New York featuring the majority of the team (Bobby back at Three Up!), and a mini Andrew Wilson part at the end. Feels like between this and the NBA Youngboy video (lol), remodeled Zeigfeld is having a comeback year.

“Last week there was a feeling of some divine mission having been completed, with Anti-Hero bestowing professional status upon Nick Matthews.” Boil the Ocean wrote about Nick Matthews finally getting the pro nod in its latest.

Anyone try skating the new Battery Park yet? Prob a bit crowded…

It’s funny when the knob that they skate-block a spot with becomes an apparatus for tricks like a fakie inward heel switch fifty front 180 out — pretty much ramping up the level of technicality possible on a spot more than if they had just left it alone. All that and more in Ben Patrick’s fakie-forward Coda Skateboards part, released via our friends at Village Psychic.

“It’s a certain type of punishment to have to watch a video you worked really hard on over and over and over… it’s gnarly. I’m only two premieres in, and I’m already losing my mind a little bit.” Simple Magic spoke to Ryan Lay about the Sci-Fi Fantasy premiere tour, and the return [?] of touring skate moments in general.

Stuck In Boca

Karim on the big screen in front of MSG • Everyone told him they were collectively deleting Instagram from their phones for the weekend for a much-needed social media break — so as not to run the risk of someone spoiling the surprise with an innocent @. He was down ❤️

The always-think-they’re-from-upstate-but-they’re-actually-from-Ontario duo of Joshua Bos and Jake Bos have a new part out via Free Skate Mag with tons of third-eye-open spot choices and even some Puerto Rico footage.

…and Theories has a premiere of Japhey Dow and Tyler Stier’s part in Grains’ Tollway, full of technical manny tricks on spots that probably have no business being used for tech manuals.

All of Jahmal Williams’ 411VM appearances in one video.
