We love all civic-minded skate media: Bubble has a 33-minute documentary about the legacy of Sants Plaza in Barcelona, which was demolished a year ago.

Coda dropped a new all-NYC edit over on Skate Jawn. Shanahan rolled in on it to start a line (see #21), but that’s the first time someone treated those amphitheaters at the Citi Field benches as a bank, right? Crazy.

“I just don’t even know no more. For me, if it doesn’t feel like the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, it doesn’t feel like I got a clip.” Really enjoyed Naquan’s 10-minute raw reel of Nikolai clips from his Venture part. Lol’d @ him being shocked at the board having the audacity to go into the water on that nosegrind. Occupational hazard for a Floridian skater, though.

Max Hull’s Hell Yeahh (Too Nice To Skate) is a masterpiece of unc skateboard cinema. It includes Gabe Tennen[‘s Wonderful Horrible Life], Conor Prunty’s salute to ten years since “422,” a Joe Scordo “My War,” Sadie BGPs, a full Luke Koch part, and so much more. If you are in your unc years or even on the cusp of unc-ness and in the midst of finding excuses to not skate on a weekend or just hit the skatepark for an hour, seeing Gabe shred should be inspo enough to commit to relearning some of your lost tricks this spring.

A reminder that Tricolor Patinetas’ 1999 video out of Mexico is essential viewing. Find your friend with the biggest screen you know, invite some friends over, bring some drinks and watch it together this week.

Skate Jawn has a Khaw Wangkaji and friends edit by Hans Klein, entirely filmed in New York — which is where the absolutely psychotic 360 flip into the escalator bank at World Trade from last week’s Top 10 originated from. The 5050 front biggie on the Brooklyn Bridge Park rail + the tre lip in Long Island City were both nuts as well. Lots to enjoy.

Free has a premiere of Mark Humienik and Grady Smith’s part in Tristan Mershon’s Singer Tower video, which effectively acts as a throwback VX Bronze crew section within the video + Skate Jawn has a premiere of Josh Narvaez’s Singer Tower part.

Zander Mitchell kickflips halfway down the bank at the Battery Park roof ledge-to-bank across from South Ferry, and skates the Courthouse Drop like a bank-to-ledge [?!] in his pro part for Jacuzzi Unlimited. The ender is some galaxy brained light-footedness.

Max Hull put together a great recap of the Light Rail Riot / Friendsgiving Jam at the Hole Bowl in Newark. Kinda figure these guys are going to be doing these every year. (For those who don’t know, the Hole Bowl is the successor to the belated Newark Shorty’s D.I.Y.)

SOAP OPERA is a new Rochester scene video from Michael Breitmaier (you may recall his Memoir video from 2023), featuring parts from Adam Kerrick, Justin Grzechowiak, David Kimball and more. Lots of beautiful VX upstate crust, some downstate trips, and Euro excursions. Something about that Berlin manny pad spot feels like it’d fit in upstate New York.

Vague has a premiere of Neil Herrick’s part in Tristan Mershon’s new video, Singer Tower. Loved the Police Plaza choreography and the unlocking of the out ledge at Brick Nine.

The first year of the QS Cup Presented by Vans went down in Greenpoint, Brooklyn — just steps away from the onetime home of the world famous Autumn Bowl. Sixteen of the world’s best skaters were paired in an eight-race bracket, racing each other around our specially engineered pump track until only one skater was left standing with the trophy.
