WOW2G is a new 22-minute video by Eighty Twenty, Hell World, and the Travel Skateshop family. Half-New York, half-Jersey spots. Aron Moloney (first full part) and Derek Thor (second-to-last part) both crush it. The pinches on those switch front crooked grinds!

Also a decent dose of Jersey City footy in Neema Joorabchi’s new B-roll montage.

So far, the “Favorite Spot” series has centered around main plazas in smaller city scenes, particular nooks in larger cities that particular skaters have an affinity for, and of course, recognizable pieces of skate ephemera now covered on real estate publications.

Farran’s latest is about one of the most storied spots in the capital of the skateboard world, recognizable to anybody who has seen a skateboard video these past thirty years. It’s no surprise that this installment ended up being the longest one ;)

Missed the chance to run a “Five Faves” in September, but 8-for-10 so far on the promise of doing one a month in 2021 isn’t so bad ;) The latest comes from a young man bound to be in consistent S.O.T.Y. contention for the foreseeable future. We are also now two-in-a-row on people born after the release of Video Days citing Guy’s part as a major influence.

Since starting the “Favorite Spot” series, there has been one skater + spot combo that has been requested above all the rest. And with the fifth installment (second local spot in a row!), we are proud to present Max Palmer and the Canal Fountain — or just “the fountain spot,” or what we have even lovingly renamed “Max Palmer Park” on the spots page.

(FWIW, it’s technically called Albert Capsouto Park, but nobody has ever called it that. Probably not even Al’s family.)

So, this one needs no further introduction. Max is a man of sparse words (in most cases, not all), and we’re all grateful he was down to talk about this absolute mess of a spot.

In the blink of an eye, we’ve had a decade of Bronze, a homie video series turned brand that reshaped the runtime required to deem a project “full-length.” Quasi transcended their birthright as a successor to Alien Workshop, carved out a singular path, and released two of the best longform productions in recent memory. The moniker “HUF” now covers not only the guy whose video parts defined less is more, but a longstanding brand.

Dick Rizzo – or Richie to those who know him — has in one way or another, intersected with these moments in contemporary skateboarding, which makes it all the more surprising that his story hasn’t been more thoroughly explored.
