Our friends at Berlin’s Civilist Skateshop hit us with a small preview of what Gino Koerner had been saving for his new part last month, and by the opening switch frontside flip — sold. Beautifully lofted flip tricks floated two-feet higher than they need to be over every famous Berlin set? A sonic boom after the stomp of a massive indoor hardflip? A fat fakie shuv down a set for good measure? Yes, yes and yes.

For the crowd that’s grown accustomed to knowing skaters by their Insta handles, you might know Gino as @lambor.gino on IG, but today we’re proud to present you his “Trap Tape” part.

Web Premiere — John Baragwanath’s Static VI Part

The unspoken motto of the nearly quarter-century spanning Static series has been “location, location, location” — each part always feels at home in a specific city, even if it isn’t entirely filmed there.

And the span of Josh Stewart’s sixth Static video feels like it reaches new corners: Trevor Thompson’s Connecticut-heavy hometown part, a bigger focus on the midwest, and Jordan Trahan’s closing section largely filmed in Louisiana. However, six videos in, New York has always been a through-line, and today, we are proud to present you John Baragwanath’s Static VI part, the only New York-based part in the latest project.

Today, we’re honored to present John Gardner’s part to you. It’s no secret that we are huge fans of everything John does — and have gone into depth about how his contiguously fun brand of skateboarding is best left defined as “some John Gardner shit,” rather than trying to put the Lego-like concoctions he creates and the tricks he strings together on them into clunky words. His latest is no different. Marone, indeed.

I was driving a 15-passenger van containing roughly 11 skaters in the middle of the night when I started to laugh and couldn’t stop. Elijah was next to me and I realized that I probably needed to explain myself. I’d been working on this project with Coles and Stafhon called “Coles; Stafhon” and as I stared at what I could of the highway, some dumb imagery superimposed itself across the windshield. I was laughing, I told him, because I’d just imagined Coles walking into a dimly-lit dining room, sitting down and eating pasta very, very seriously.
