Sick spots (probably the most astute prop grate finders working today), a soundtrack sure to please anyone who’s ever left a “you guys actually like this?”-comment on a Quartersnacks YouTube video, and an awesome ender part from John Shanahan (above) that will be on repeat for the foreseeable future. Fakie bigspin manny line was a real crowd pleaser :) Also, those security guards at the gold rail on 52nd Street might be the worst in the city…

Even though the rumors have been going for years, the Love Park redesign looks like it’s becoming an increasing reality. It’s nice that they’re turning it into a grassy crack smoking campsite with a big toilet in the middle.

Remember Chad Knight? For whatever reason, decided to give his Shetler Show episode a chance. There are some interesting bits, namely having to do with the late nineties skate boom. People can call companies like Osiris “corny” in hindsight, but we’re still talking about them more than some of the “cool” stuff from when we were growing up. All the corny shit means a lot in life. There’s no shortage of high praise on the Stretch and Bobbito documentary going around, but as an addendum to that, you should listen to the two-hour Juan Ep podcast with the two of them. They make a point of not spoiling anything in the film itself. Bobbito not knowing this was a Dogg Pound beat or the context of the song is the most hilariously east coast shit ever. That song was in a clip, btw ;)

QS Sports Desk Play of the Week: The entire highlights video of Magic-Thunder from Friday. I witnessed a $50 bet go down this past week on Russell Westbrook being league MVP. He’ll probably finish top three, but it doesn’t matter because he’s actually the greatest basketball player in the history of skateboarding.

Skateboard Story interviewed Grandpa Jeremy about working at Autumn and subsequently running a shop of his own in Philadelphia.

There’s no reason to even bother pretending like anyone will have the slightest morsel of a chance in skating those Universitat-esque benches they’re supposed to be putting in Times Square. Anyone who’s skated through there even at the dead of night mid-winter knows those rookie cops are just waiting to ticket you. Literally the only precinct in the city I’ve ever heard claim it was illegal to skate on a sidewalk in New York.

“I liked it back in the day when someone like Henry Sanchez threw your board in the water at Pier 7, but he was still your favorite skater even after that. Now you don’t say hi to some kid and you’re ‘the biggest dick ever.'” Monster Children has a quick interview with the guy who ruined skateboarding back in 2012.

Our tour van playlists this past summer haven’t been far off from the Real van, though we probably listened to the [non-slowed down] middle montage song from Horny way more than anything (besides 56 Nights obvs.)
