A week for the impossible-to-narrow-down hall of fame. Tried not to go overboard on clips from the Nike video since they got so much burn everywhere this week — but it’s still a lot of it.
23 years after the iconic 2000 Transworld photo issue Jamie Thomas cover, the gag has just become reality — see #1 for evidence. Some say that imagery has depreciated in our era of #so #much #media, but the actual photo of the trick is an incredible synopsis of how gigantic skateboarding has become in the time since then.
Otherwise, we have some pop shove magic, 540s at Blue Park, a Lucas Puig trick rivaling the work of the man himself, and of course — the Montreal Instagram plaza.
(Yes, the Nike video got deferred until next week in the interests of not having a full highlight reel countdown 24 hours after the video dropped.)

Some fancy backside 5050 dismounts, unexpected tech, and Copenhagen reportage. Have a weird feeling that the trick in the #2 clip might’ve been in an old top ten, but our archivist is on vacation until late June.

All things considered, the falls section at the middle of the latest Melodi video probably takes it for most-discussed piece of skateboarding in the past week — more than any actual make. Skate videos are all about making you feel something, yaknow. Def felt the pain permeate through the screen on those.
Still trying to figure out the way the body contorts v.s. the board on #2.
