You’ve Gotta Love Sports!

“Bills 3 Late Fee” is the new video from Angel Foseca and the crew up in The Bronx. Always a pleasure watching these videos that look and feel way different than so much of the other stuff coming out of the city.
If your heart doesn’t melt watching this… well, I don’t even know — Diego Meek (Dr. Scarecrow, et al.) put together a six-minute mini-doc about Skate After School, a program serving eight low-income elementary schools. “I painted it myself!” If you want a PSA about skateboarding at its purest and absolute best, this is it.
Naquan uploaded the 34-minute master file of Black Business b-sides.
Tompkins Square Park native son, Yaje Popson, is is the latest guest on the “Mission Statement” podcast.
Let It All Work Out
We did an end of the year inventory over at the warehouse, and turned up some loosies of things we had marked as sold out. Check the webstore in case you missed out on something from the last release. It’s not a restock, e.g. maybe we found quite literally two larges of a tee and threw them back online. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. Thank you everyone for all the support throughout the year.

And editing an artsy clip to movie quotes from probably the most quoted New York movie in existence is a bit too, um, on the nose, but footage of Appleyard skating the city was a nice surprise.

Stumbled on this two-hour mix of New York jams that appeared on DJ Screw mixtapes, which made me never want to listen to some of these songs at regular speed ever again. The Rakim one is insane, and never would have thought that Tribe screwed would sound so good.

Big week for Chief Keef video parts, and a bad week for that antiquated tradition of keeping an unenthused stone face after you land your ender. Ignoring the fact that its objectively horrid to look at (not even talking as a skateboarder here…but what the hell is wrong with them renovating these parks in a way that makes it look like their budget was a $200 Home Depot gift card?), there are these weird slappy metal things at the park on Spring and Sixth Avenue now A.K.A. the old marble chessboard park.
Bad news: McNally Jackson is closing. Good news: They’re insisting that they will remain in the neighborhood. So excited for that corner to become a Chase bank :(
