The curved median ledge on Canal, just one block east of the Hudson River, has been one of those “why is this waxed?” mysteries for years. Everyone had always assumed BMXers or rollerbladers, and while that may have been the case for past years, Zak Anders (from RESPECTFULLY) lipslid it in his new “COW BOY” part, putting the first known skate footage of it to record. Appropriate that it would be across the street from what is still one of the most fucked New York clips that Brandon Westgate ever logged.
Peak-era Brian Brown was truly a magic talent on a skateboard. Joe Cups dropped an extended footy tape of his from 2004, a lot of which was in Vicious Cycle, but a lot of which wasn’t 😉 (The reigning S.O.T.Y. cited that part as one of his reasons for wanting to move out east…)

Man, 8:15 might be long for a trip edit in our era of torched attention spans — but, hear me out — the majority of the crew from the Sicily trip spent the past two years cooped up stateside. And, AND, AND — the first time we made it out to Europe, Majorca was kind enough to bless us with no rain for ten days straight… we came back with a fuckin’ 30+ minute raw timeline 😲
Also, Justin and Nick went pro since that last trip, and pros stack 😈
Some of that 30+ minutes is chilling with horses, some of it was goofing around in an out-of-season water park, and all of it was at spots that Brady had been to throughout his ten times (seriously, ten) of visiting Majorca since the Blueprint days. Wrote a more extensive thing about it in the current issue of Free, which they’ll put online eventually ;)
Features Nick Michel, Justin Henry, Etienne Gagne, Diego Todd, Ben Blundell and Danny Brady. Supported by Vans.
Filmed by Johnathan Flechas and Emilio Cuilan. Edited by Emilio Cuilan.

Ballot Count by 4Ply Magazine
The votes are in, the ballots are tallied, the blurbs by writer friends from the internet are written, and our annual exercise of trying to combat content fatigue and fried attention spans is live.
For anybody uninitiated: back in 2019, we asked QS visitors for the five parts and videos from the 2010s that they would bury in a capsule under the earth for future inhabitants to reference once all other evidence of skateboarding had been erased. In 2020, we adapted this concept to encapsulate one year. And here we are in 2021, with the results of the same excerise.
No commentary for the full-lengths or 20-11 ranked parts. Special thank you to all the writers that took the time to share some words about their favorites. (Lol that the order for the 4-1 writers is the same this year as last. Total coincidence.) Major shout out to Pete at 4Ply Magazine for compiling all the data.
If you are just joining us, this ranking was voted on by QS readers from November 29th to December 3rd.

Added Dusty Familia’s “101 Fulton” edit of the Veteran’s Plaza in Grand Rapids, Michigan + Maceo Moreau’s “La Plaine Brute” edit from La Plaine in Marseilles to the QS One-Spot Part Map.
Paul Young uploaded the full raw files to the “Museum of Sex” edit.
“I lovvvveee your outfitttttt. Mwah.” Cee-Lo Champs’ new video, Demon Time, is now live.
Rest In Peace Brendan Leddy. Some of you might remember Brendan as having the first part in the Long Island video, Short Ends, which premiered alongside Static 3 in 2007, and also featured the first-ever parts from Jake Johnson and Luke Malaney. Brendan would go on to join the Air Force and he became an engineer after serving. He will be buried with a Silver Star. Tell your friends you love them ❤️
From summer trips to Hudson Valley swimming holes to building igloos at Tompkins, Kei Tsuruta’s “Donut Pub Mix” video is a 14-minute iPhone edit that features a lot of what was going on the periphery of them filming for Homies 2.
Not much info on this one, but “Last Straw” is a really sick New York winter edit that ramps up an octave in the last minute or so. That Euro gap to uphill landing kickflip is *wild*.
