Walker Ryan has low-key (mid-key?) spent the past few years doing some of the best tricks on the staple New York spots. Old Friends put together this five-minute A.B.D. edit of all his city footage. Respect to filming the World Trade out ledge from the Burger King window, and to the fact that the security guard standing at the bottom of the bank is basically a part of the Roosevelt Island spot, no matter the clip.

The Parks Department sessions Central Park for All City Showdown. Comedy aside, there’s something admirable about filming an entire montage in a place well known for having next to nothing to skate. There are those three sets of three on a hill at the south entrance of the reservoir that would actually look great on film though…

Muckmouth’s rant on ETN — essentially Pay-Per-View for skating — is one of the funnier pieces of skateboard writing in recent memory, but the most quotable lines are a bit too risqué for the #SFW environment of a Monday QS post :)

The Tennyson Corp just keeps reelin’ in the hits. The latest is a mix of J.B. and Caesar Singh’s 411 footage. Is the fact that J.B. is European the only reason why he’s often forgotten on First Team Prodigious Nineties Street Skaters lists? Yes? Though so.

Kalis is one of the rare pros whose interviews always feel different and new, even though he’s covered the same tried and true subjects before. He’s got two out this week, both on the occasion of his first trip to London…one with Kingpin about a vindictive $117,000 tax bill from the city of Philadelphia, and another with Slam City Skates with some good bits about the homogenization of 360 flips.

Chima was a bit more unhinged than a lot of guests on the season finale of The Bunt. Requests for next season: Kalis (duh), Zered, Forrest, Jake, Smolik, Muska.

Though The Barter 6 has dominated the majority of rap-related conversation this past weekend, allow us to remind you that the QS Rap Desk’s favorite happy rap group has a new one over on Live Mixtapes. Travie’s had a quiet past twelve months, and it’s sad they weren’t allotted a Rae Sremmurd-esque super producer co-sign in like ~2010, but they’re still the go-to when you get sick of rappers telling you they’re gonna shoot you in their Alexander Wang gear. Praise be to happy rap music :)

Trevor Colden won over the entire QS office by skating to Migos for his Skate Mental intro part (oddly to the song we joked about using for the Westgate remix.) Needless to say, skimming through people crying about the music supervision in the comments was real familiar experience. Now who’s gonna skate to “Freak No More?”

QS Sports Desk Play of the Week: Kevin Durant’s fallaway four-point play was insane, but the Thunder ended up losing the game in overtime, so it’s got to go to Vince Carter’s three-point game winner. Who knew Vince Carter was seventh in all-time made threes? How good have the playoffs been? With some 58,000+ signatures and proper organization, skateboarders have, at the very least, delayed the reconstruction of the legendary South Bank spot in London. The group behind the the preservation has applied to grant the space “village green” status, which protects historic places for sports and pasttimes. Meanwhile, the Small Banks are a rotting carcass of bricks, dust and heroin needles.

Luis Tolentino confirms that his pop comes from eating bricks, and skates around New York’s biggest borough with Rodney Torres and the legendary Rob Campbell.

With Outdated behind us, Elijah Cole insisting that the Cathode video is coming out “next month” is the new Kevin Tierney insisting that J.P’s video is coming out “next month.” Anyway, new here’s a new promo for Cathode.

Marc Johnson’s is likely the best of the bunch, and confirms some of the speculation that went around why certain people weren’t as prevalent in Pretty Sweet as we had hoped. Good to hear his “lost” Tilt Mode goof-around part from the Bag of Suck-era has been found, considering the somewhat goofy Man Down part is his best.

A Mike Heikkila cruiser part filmed weeks after breaking both arms.

Stephen McClintock put together an artsy Super 8 video for DQM featuring a bunch of familiar faces. NY-based skate shops love Super 8.
