Below is a quick video of our weekend trip to the land of Lunarlon, “Matt Beach did this here”-anecdotes (never forget), insanely good food, gorgeous mountain views, bad [face] tattoos, and strippers dancing to MF Doom.

Naturally, DS2 A.K.A. “That Dirty Spirit 2,” as it is known through Matt Perez’s Snapchat, did not leave the CD changer throughout the duration of the journey.

“When did Johnny’s videos peak?”

That has been a popular topic in 2015. Pundits believe the videos were at their purest when Space Heater dropped — but then you remember that Beef Patty contained the last full-length Paul Tucci part, or that Paych had that fire Gwen Stefani song.

As we wait to see if the monster of New York City nightlife has Wenning-esque consequences on the Most Productive Crew™ (that may be an antiquated name) and their filmer, Sure is the latest one. It got rave reviews on premiere night.

Features parts from Andrew Wilson, Harry Jumonji, reigning Q.S.S.O.T.Y. Max Palmer making a strong case for potentially pulling the first ever two-peat win of the award, Paul Tucci with his highest volume of footage since the aforementioned video, Corey Rubin skating a bowl wearing a chain, John Choi from Dime and Cyrus from Polar. Guest appearances from all the familiar faces, along with a middle montage filmed at some weird sunny part of Brooklyn (?) that I have never been to.

‘Sure’ — The New Video From Johnny Wilson & the Most Productive Crew™ in New York City Skateboarding

Despite having peaked with Space Heater and a well-documented ascent within New York’s fashion elite, Johnny Wilson still manages to document more hot skateboard moves than any other residing filmer. Sure, the new one from the Most Productive Crew™ in New York skateboarding, will be the first of inevitably ten million skate premieres at Sunshine Cinema this summer, and premieres at 9:30 P.M. on Thursday, July 2. No tickets, and seats will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Video features Cyrus from Polar, Andrew from Alltimers, the reigning Q.S.S.O.T.Y. Max Palmer, Corey Rubin with his first full part since Propeller, John Choi in a rumored-to-be last part, and all the usual members.

Brief teaser below. DVDs available sometime between the premiere date and the day Johnny moves to Los Angeles ;)

Shocked to see that the new Staten Island skatepark has straight, normal ledges. NY Skateboarding takes a look at Faber Park. Looks like Astoria but with more hubbas.

Didn’t know bearing companies really go on “tour” — Bones Swiss has a new Euro tour vid out with a bunch of really good B. Worrest footage. Sorta miss the era when you could still put a really long manual in a video :(

This has been online for eight years, but saw it reposted a bit on Tumblr: raw footage of Anthony Correa from 1997. Mostly Houston and S.F. stuff. Wish there was more footage of the dude out there (or at least a version of his Mixtape 2 part that didn’t feature a rapper who actually said “my crew packed full of nuts like an Almond Joy.”) Also, that back smith on the Seaport bench in the first Static video is still reigning atop the smith grind hall of fame nearly twenty years later.

Not sure which “Summer Trip to New York” cycle this should even count for…it came out in 2015 but was seemingly filmed in 2014. Anyway, some Australians who really love helicopter shots skate around New York for a bit. The kickflip up / turn around / switch flip down line at Columbus Park is awesome.

Russians produce bleaker skate footage than even the Brits. They love tracksuits too.

Always surprised to remember that Riverside Skatepark still exists.

Happy to hear the lease at House of Vans was renewed. Place was a real lifesaver these past few winters when you just want to listen to Drake and skate with the boys.

There are the Boil the Ocean posts that I sorta get, and then there are the ones that I sorta don’t. The new one is in the latter category.

The low barrier in front of Punjabi on Avenue A and Houston is gone.

R.I.P. Chinx Drugs. “Let him be remembered for being one of the few rappers who didn’t waste Harry Fraud’s production.”

QS Sports Desk Play of the Week: Iguodala probably should’ve been called for the foul here, but Steph hit a shot behind two three point-lines. Big no thanks to the Los Angeles Clippers for allowing this excruciating-to-watch Houston team to make it to the conference finals. You guys are horrible and hate people who watch basketball.

Thanks to everyone who grabbed something from the webstore this past week. We’re just getting caught up with orders now, so please hold any “Where’s my stuff”-emails until at least the middle of the week. Still some sizes in hoodys, shorts and jerseys left, plus all sizes of the tees except the Vacation one :)

Sort of on that same note, can’t recall an interview that really elaborated on just how much money the average “A-list” pro skateboarder made in the early-2000s as Jenkem’s new one with Kenny Getz re: “the CKY era.”

Someone on Slap scanned the entire Olson TWS cover interview in a readable resolution. All New York photos. He does darkslides now.

Wenning was stressed out filming for Photosynthesis ten days before deadline.

After numerous false starts at digitizing their archive, Know Skate and TWS announced that every 411VM segment will be available via an app by the end of this year. (ICYMI: Somewhat relevant old QS post.)

Haven’t seen much from this dude as of late, but glad he’s still putting out solid parts: New one from Austin Kanfoush. Boardslide S.F. 3-up-3-down is super chill.

NY Skateboarding has a bit more info on the skatepark being built in place of the Fat Kid Spot. And yes, they should keep the name “Fat Kid Spot” for it, with the green Parks Department leaf under the name and all. Don’t forget that there’s also supposed to be a new park built in Harlem for the summer, too. (Even though #lenox4ever.)
