Y’all Won

Monday Links on a Tuesday on account of the holiday…

Quartersnacks makes a Knicks hat, and then the Knicks make the Finals for the first time in 27 years. Coincidence? Definitely not.

“If you’re painting in fear, that’s a bad state.” Antonio Durao is a painter.

Jermaine Whittaker has a new part with his 5301 CLT crew down in Charlotte, made in tribute to their friend, Nate Stout. Some New York dispersed between Carolina crust.

Two new ones from the next gens out of Europe: “BUG OUTTA HERE” by Moritz Ueberall and the BUG crew out of Hamburg + “Rustiq” by Stellavision, a young crew out of Paris. There’s some Trung guest clips in there too ;)

Kilian Zehnder’s “4M” part has a good batch of New York footy at the start. Switch flip back noseblunt is a demonic thing to try at Lenox.

The 5301 crew out of Charlotte, North Carolina — who you may remember from past Black Sheep Skateshop-affiliated videos like STK (2024) and AVENUE (2023) — just premiered their latest full-length, It’s Always Something.

As a sample, we have Jermaine Whittaker’s part for you. (Jermaine had a NY-centric part in Blaine Williams’ Normal earlier this year, in addition to one for our friends at Vague a year ago.) His latest finds him back in North Carolina, charging into all sorts of obtuse ledges, and hucking onto the whip to wrap the line up ;)

A roll-through of the restored Big Banks section of the Brooklyn Banks.

Blaine Williams’ new video is called Normal and it rips. All New York, with a wide net of spots and personalities. Jermaine Whittaker’s closing part is crazy (that opening trick!), and honestly, that one dude doing a half cab crook on the middle bench on Marcy [as opposed to the end… like everyone else] to start a line is one of the most impressive things in the video.

Kader shared a vlog of him in New York, Portland, and Philly by Tristan Warren, which includes some B.T.S. warm-ups. The tweak on those switch ollies over the Soho barrier is insane.

Type of Way

“‘The EP me and Thug [are going to] drop? The hardest duo since Outkast.’ The interviewer’s eyes widen. He starts to push back (‘Now that’s—’), but Quan cuts him off. ‘I’m not being funny.’ He presses. ‘I’m not putting too much on it. Hardest duo since Outkast.'” 💔 💔💔

“Every Saturday and Sunday morning I drive around drinking coffee and looking around the city. I’m always looking for a spot where you could put a little piece of concrete and see if it stays.” Skate Jawn interviewed our good friend John Cruz about life after Shorty’s, and the D.I.Y. scene in Newark, New Jersey.

Day one rider for Travel Skateshop [Rahway, NJ], Derek Patterson, dropped a new part for Bronson Bearings. Mainly NY + NJ clips, with a wild ender and an incredible hardflip on that drop-in gap over the street behind Pyramid Ledges.

Jermaine Whittaker has a sick new part out over on Vague, filmed and edited by Blaine Williams. Lots of Seward Park ledge tech-ery and great switch front shove form at the end.
