We have a homie named Piff and he’s excited about the future of the Piffskateteam. Needless to say, these fellas filed one of the best “Summer Trip To New York” edits of the season, and spent much of it on two wheels. It really ramps up a few octaves towards the end.

Baseball bats, socks with rocks in them, Vesuvio Playground mafia kids, etc. Eli Gesner is the latest guest on Transworld’s “When The Brooklyn Banks Were Dangerous” series, re-telling the famous Banks Halloween story that sounds like a cross between The Warriors and After Hours if both movies had skateboarders starring in them. Pretty sure he told it on an old Nine Club (“This dude just explained the plots of 20 different Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies“), but this one has the added bonus of being at the actual locations. P.S. If you witnessed the fallout of a certain incident last week, you can probably make the case of the Brooklyn Banks …still being …nevermind.

The Summer of Seward continues for the second year in a row. (Ollie up the seven remains NBD, right?) Blake Carpenter, Art Cordova, Thomas Dritsas, and Daniel Teran star in a Vinyl Skateboards “Summer Trip To New York” edit by Kevin Perez.

The Fargo Skateboarding crew from Illinois also dropped a trip to New York edit. Wild that the Marcy Ledges are even popping up in trip videos now.

Dalton Palacio and his crew (the 700k crew) dropped a new video entitled “Mahogany.” Mostly L.A. clips with a bit of New York mixed in. Last part was crazy good. And the closing bigspin on a certain Chinatown set was 10/10.

Sometimes all you need is …a Philly step and a nearby gas station, and it’ll keep you entertained for an entire summer. Paul Young put together an edit of all the Down By Law clips that feature the Greenpoint Philly step behind Zered Park.

“I don’t know what that guy was on that day, but he looked like pure evil.” Free is hosting Jahmal Williams, Steve Brandi and Aaron Herrington’s shared section from Static VI + has a full interview with all of them about working on the Static series and the time they saw satan in an unmarked SUV.

Another Paul Young Sure Shot — ‘Down By Law’ is Now Live

Every skate video — company, crew, whatever — aims to be greater than the sum of its parts, but it’s usually the videos entirely helmed by filmers that come with the most personal touch.

If you remember, Paul Young’s Down By Law was supposed to be a much smaller video. The only “starring” roles in the teaser from July ’22 were Joe Russo and Ben Tenner. Filmers don’t always get a chance to be in complete control of their footage, often having to cede the priority of passion projects to giving friends’ sponsors all their A-roll in exchange for rent money. But when they do, the influences become apparent in such a beautiful way. Great videographers are often the biggest critics of their own work, so when they have total control, its imperative that everything feel right and meaningful.
