Go Skateboard With Your Friends

Stingwater.

The most unexpected event of 2016 has got to be Fat Joe and Remy Ma legit making a hit twelve years after “Lean Back.” (I still got “Inside the Mattress” on though.) And now, the pressing question of which summer clip will be the first to go…”all the way up” is over ;) The promo for the new HYD video has a bunch of gems in it, including the second most unexpected event of 2016: someone filming a line at the ABC ledges.

Some of this footage appeared in Deathbowl to Downtown and Huf’s Epicly Later’d, but it is the best old footage to resurface probably since “Apple Juice” went online. Huf, Keenan, Liversedge, Bici, etc. circa 1991. Shout out to skate spots.

TWS posted TJ’s full AM spotlight interview and photos.

“My favorite skater is Louie Lopez, and my second favorite skater is Louie Lopez when he gets older.” (Only online for 48 hours btw.)

Blueprint Alumni Update: Some chill Danny Brady footage in the new Slam City Skates clip, and Nick Jensen has a new part to some Red and Meth.

Ripped Laces been posting a good bit of cool shit lately — a requiem for Reekbok’s DGK Workout Lo (which 80% of the people involved with this website were skating in 2005 because that store Clientele [R.I.P.] had pairs for $30) and Kerry Getz on life after pro skateboarding at a #legacyskateshoebrand.

Remember that chill D.I.Y. spot south of Alligator Ledge that was around for like two weekends? Max Hull posted some highlights with the BSA squad.

Sidewalk interviewed Aaron Herrington re: everything.

Zered talks talks about what “vicious cycle” actually meant and photography.

Is Reggaeton the new #skatevideohouse? Diamond Days #88.

Stöösy has a new clip of Jesse Alba skating around Brooklyn.

We were just at the Christiana bowl a week-and-a-half ago. Someone said “that’s where Tom Penny sleeps” re: a sleeping bag in this small zone above the bowl. New [indoor skatepark] Penny footage.

Support Humble Skateboards.

I have no clue what the new Boil the Ocean post is talking about.

QS Sports Desk Play of the Week: Given that Game 4 was like the only “fun” one to watch, it’d be dope if this went seven, but looks doubtful.

Still most played jam of 2k16. Yo can someone please do a full Future + Nard & B mix? Respect to Young Metro but its the most under-appreciated rapper+producer combo.

Endless Bummer: The New Palace Video

benny kickflip

You know how rappers drop mixtapes before the album? With the Palace video on the way, and intent on only including London footage, they just dropped the would-be mixtape before the “official” video, which may or may not be out by 2020. It includes street footage from trips to Los Angeles, their 2013 U.K. tour, Copenhagen, Paris, and probably some other parts of Europe that are less recognizable to the untrained eye.

Rather than go the Euro barge, edit-by-city route, this one features full parts from Rory Milanes, Lucien Clarke, Charlie Young, Karim Bakhtaoui, Benny Fairfax, Chewy Canon and Danny Brady. Guest tricks from Torey ♥, Rich Homie Juan, Powers and others.

End of the Summer / Labor Day Weekend 2014 Clip

gucci

When I die, bury me inside the Gucci store…but like actually.

It’s that time of year again. This one is a little different because it includes a quick Euro interlude from our time in Paris and Copenhagen this summer. Thanks to everyone who looked out while we were out there: Rich Homie Juan, Frey Dogg, Hjalte (I lost your line for some unknown reason, sorry, I’m an idiot), etc. Enjoy your long weekend and start planning those outfits for NYFW14!

Features Alexander Mosley, Connor Champion, Kadeem Walters, Ty Lyons, Tyler Tufty, Josh Velez, Michael Gigliotti, Matthew Perez, Jon Diaz, Haffa, Jack Sabback, Antonio Durao, Pryce Holmes, Torey Goodall, Danny Brady, Frey Dogg, Pad Dowd, Andre Page, Emilio Cuilan, Rich Homie Juan, Rory Milanes, Kevin Tierney, Uptown Eddie, Chris Haslam’s ex-girlfriend.

Contributing filmers: Andre Page, Richard Quintero, Josh Velez.

We *would* include an alternate YouTube link, but apparently they started disabling audio on account of music rights again? Sick! Glad you record labels are keeping your business models current!

Oh, and in the interest of full disclosure, this entire clip would be edited to “You the World” if only it had come out a week before. Unfortunately, it came out on Wednesday, and the clip was already halfway done at that point :(

Previous End of Summer Editions: 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006

Yo did you see the new Nyjah Hudson part?

brady part

Any day where you wake up to two texts – one from someone in their thirties and another from someone in their mid-twenties – about a Nyjah Hudson part is a pretty weird day, especially before 11 A.M. Considering we already ruled that Ishod’s Sabotage 3 part is the absolute pinnacle of how good a video part could be before it starts looking like Gravity, Nyjah Hudson can wait.

Danny Brady’s welcome part for Palace probably can’t wait though. Pending a review from the QS Skater Nationality Board to establish whether or not Torey Goodall post-marriage classifies as a British skateboarder, Danny Brady currently holds the title for Best British Dude Out. Provided he is ruled British, Torey might have him beat by a slight margin, if only because he’s a surefire lock for 2013’s Mike York Award (due to a mid-line regular ledge frontside noseslide obvs.)

Also, did anyone else always suspect that tunnel from the beginning of Clockwork Orange was a skate spot? Good to know it’s still around. Who’s trying to collaborate on a Tumblr featuring screengrabs of skate spot sightings from regular movies?

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Be back on Friday.
