‘ab’ — Alan Bell’s New Part For Late Nite Stars by Nico Marti

The element of surprise is becoming tougher to come by in skate videos. It’s a numbers game: with simply more skaters scouring more spots and more videographers to document them, there’s more talent covering the bases of what makes us yell at our screens in disbelief.

Alan Bell, however, has been a leading purveyor of surprises lately. Whether it’s hopping a curb that slices a giant bank into two halves in “It’s All Good,” the video game combo heelflip heard ’round the internet from “Be Honest,” or the Allen Street kickflip that we discussed earlier this week — there’s a consistent thread of “what the actual fuck” running through it all.

In Alan’s latest part — put together by Nico Marti for Late Nite Stars — he uncovers a new approach to the knobs at Verizon banks barely two weeks removed from Mr. Palmer front blunting them, backside flips across one of New York’s burgeoning egg spots, and just when you think you’re about to be treated to the elusive triple replay of a trick, you get one last surprise as the curtains close ;)

Still got some loose sizes of holiday QS gear on sale in the webstore ⛵️ Thanks for supporting what we do :)

“I tell Bill all the time, ‘I don’t have that many video parts left in me.'” Farran Golding profiled Tyshawn Jones and Bill Strobeck for GQ.

We were out in Argentina last month, and were lucky enough to get shown around by Eze Martinez (Milton’s brother, yes.) He’s got an incredible section in the new Cons Argentina edit. There’s something extra fun in watching siblings who skate at absolute opposite ends of the skate spectrum excel in their respective corners at this high of a level. (No Milton footy in this video though.)

Late Pass – Nico Marti’s ‘be honest’ Video

The first thing you notice about Nico Marti’s new video is how cold the first few minutes feel: the footage in gloves, visible breath, an added level of last-try desperation at a midtown bust.

As your viewing experience continues, some questions come up. Wait, are there parts in this? Did they just leave New York? What is this pleasant music? Wait — is that fucking Channing Tatum?

Be Honest is a follow-up to All Those Days, which was a Texas video born out of the pandemic-era boom in local videography. Some of the other outlets labeled it a New York vid by mostly Texas ex-pats, but there’s a massive Texas section sandwiched between the beginning and ends back in New York.
