Right On Time — Best of 2024 Montage

Just 24 hours before we never have to talk about 2024 ever again, here it is: the annual recycled footage montage ♻ to the year’s most inescapable hits.

2024 was about Charli XCX, Cash Cobain and Antonio Durao, so naturally, those things are heavily reflected in the following video.

It was a year where we spent a ton of time at Columbus [Circle, not Park] and the flattened version of Museum. Lots of Hardbody OD video B.T.S. as well, along with the most celebrated rock fakie on a barn you’ll ever see in your life. (Maybe most celebrated rock fakie on any obstacle, if we’re being real…)

2024 was also the year that K.T. finally did the fucking lipslide to noseblunt thing he has been trying since 1997, thank God.

Thank you Jefé for filming a ton of the iPhone clips. Thanks to everyone for joining us for the ride this year. See you in 2025.

The Best Skate Videos & Parts of 2024 — QS Readers Poll Results

🎨 Graphic by Francesco Pini
📊 Ballot Count by 4PLY

The results are in and we have an official, publicly sourced snapshot of 2024 skateboarding, as voted on by hundreds of people. And unlike last year, when the eventual Thrasher S.O.T.Y. winner dropped a part on the day that voting closed, there were no last-minute surprises. There are some new names, and some longtime favorites who have only ranked 20-11 in the past have finally broke into the top ten ❤️

Thanks to everyone who voted, and everyone who did some writing below :)

This ranking was voted on by QS readers from December 9th to December 13th. Editors and contributors can vote, but this is not a selection curated by QS staff. If you’re interested in the methodology, 4PLY broke down how we tally the votes

#QSTOP10 — Top 10 of 2024

After 10,000 hours of watching skateboarding this year, these are the ten clips that brought the most joy / dropped jaws / conversations at the QS Office. Maybe your office spoke about completely different clips a lot more, but that’s your business ;)

It seems like skateboarding swung towards really gnarly kinked rails in 2024, even more than recent years, and the countdown is kind of …not really reflective of that trend. Then again, our biases are clear: three of the ten are in New York [four if you count New York State], and those took precedent over like, idk, the really Gnarly Wallenburg Trick from the Primitive video.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the kinked rail trend coincided with probably the highest rate of sacks in the intro compilation pre-roll, so…there’s that.

The #QSTOP10 desk will be on vacation for the next two weeks. The countdown will return on Friday, January 3. Thanks for watching this year, and as always, a much bigger thanks to the skaters, videographers, editors, traffic look-outs, spot repairers and knob removers that keep the good times coming ❤️
