Justin Hearn is one of the leading faces pushing the Atlanta skate scene in 2025, and today, we are proud to present his part for Stratosphere — a shop that is not only the longest-standing in the city, but one of the most O.G. shops in the entire country.
In our collective ideas of the world’s skate scenes, Atlanta always felt like it carried an unmistakable frenetic energy. Think Grant Taylor in a backyard pool, Shane Farber and the Widdip dudes riding off rooftops onto ride-on rails and shit, or the angsty hucking you find in a Melodi edit. Mr. Hearn, on the other hand, skates with a smooth cadence that feels more synonymous with a Pulaski or a Muni. And while we might not think of Atlanta as explicitly a plaza city like D.C. or Philly, they’re there in their own southern way: the Bell South Ledges, Black Blocks, and M.L.K., which appears in the form of a mini one-spot part as a prelude to him hitting all those other ones. It’s all how you do it, yaknow?
