It is that time of the year again: when we look back at all the countless hours we have spent watching skateboard videos, and wonder to ourselves, “Wait, wtf even came out this year?”
We ask our esteemed readers to provide a list of their five favorite individual parts + five favorite full-length videos from the past year. To anyone just joining us: our objective is to combat content fatigue and our cooked attention spans in the era of endless content by making a time capsule of the last 12 months. This is already our fifth time doing it for a single year.
For someone looking back at 2024 in five or ten years from now — from where you sit now — which five individual parts and five full videos would you say best exemplify this moment in skateboarding?
We ask that all entries be ranked. 4PLY dove into the poll’s methodology for anyone interested.
Voting closes this Friday, December 13 @ 3 P.M. New York time. Results will be presented later this month.
To this guy and all others like him: Yes, the Readers Poll is not perfect, be we are firm in our belief that nobody wants to talk about 2024 in 2025. This does however mean that parts and videos may miss the cutoff for voting, but still come out in a calendar year.
We will be honoring votes for videos released after the voting deadline in 2024. This includes Late Nite Stars’ O video, Yuto’s April part, Jeff Cecere’s This Is A Window, and yes, Miles Silvas’ “City To City” part.
