Pigeon Shit Double-Set

Spots: Midtown Manhattan — Theater District / Times Square Area

Spot: Taking into account that the overwhelming majority of the double-sets in Midtown Manhattan are complete busts, this may be the safest bet if you insist on skating one. Unlike all of the one-try-kick-out double sets, this spot is devoid of a perfect runway and landing. The runway is only about thirty feet long, and on pretty rough ground covered with bird droppings and other garbage. The actual three-flat-three is small, and the flat in between the two sets is under three feet, so it is really easy to clear, provided that you have ample speed. The landing is generic city sidewalk and long enough to roll away clean on.

Bust — ♦♦ / Occasional: You normally don’t get kicked out of here, but it’s best to go after 7 or 8 P.M. The spot is a few blocks south of Times Square, so you could expect pedestrian traffic to be heavy any time before then.

Location: 39th Street and Broadway. Take the N, Q, R or W to Times Square-42nd Street and skate south on Broadway for three blocks. The spot is on the corner, in front of the Chase Bank.
