Let It All Work Out

Via @keenanforeverfoundation

We did an end of the year inventory over at the warehouse, and turned up some loosies of things we had marked as sold out. Check the webstore in case you missed out on something from the last release. It’s not a restock, e.g. maybe we found quite literally two larges of a tee and threw them back online. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. Thank you everyone for all the support throughout the year.

“I think me doing all these other things outside of skating makes me like skating more.” Thrasher posted up Tyshawn’s interview from the last issue, and the full “BLESSED” article online. Still processing how Kadow’s Chinatown Banks lipslide ever worked out.

2018 Kiki mix and 2018 E.J. mix.

Boil the Ocean is still running down their annual Top 10 parts segment, and Cafe Creme offers up a #list for their 2018 “Gourmet Selection.” The final installment of our Year in Review will be live shortly ;)

Daniel Kim put together a Jason Byoun “Groer of the Underworld” remix.

Neil Herrick’s part in Fairman’s 4 really turns up a couple notches after Jordan Trahan’s (…right?) guest trick.

Mike Sass put up PFP5 online in its entirety.

We’ve discussed having to reach adulthood before truly ~getting~ Tom Penny before, but the Cult of Tom guy *got it* right away.

Despite talking shit about how nothing really went online video-wise last week, this Converse Brazil video has some wild clips in it. And while we’re at it, Tiago’s section from TWS’ Duets video is online too. Thx 4 the love bro ♥

Merry Jinxmas from Hijinx!

Paul Young uploaded a few minutes of circa 2015 Nick Ferro raw files.

New year, new Pace Ledge. Safe to say that the A.B.D. scroll has been refreshed.

Need a playlist with a sizable chunk of the Young Thug leaks from 2018? Yeah, you do. It’s insane some of these are sitting in purgatory compared to what gets released by the label. This playlist > the sum of his “official” 2018 output, and his “Let It All Work Out” is better than his dad’s ♥

Web Premiere — Tino Del Zotto’s ‘PFP5’ Part

Mike Sass has been making Westchester videos with his PFP / Picture Fucking Perfect series for pretty much this entire decade. The series offers a view of a scene that’s very much a satellite of the city, yet full of skaters and spots not trapped in the “let’s meet at L.E.S. or Blubba and see what happens” pattern that is synonymous with so many 2010s New York videos. (And anyone living in Brooklyn can replace the Blubba in this meme with Blue Park.) City life will have you so wrapped up in routine and safety nets that a place only ten miles north of The Bronx can come off feeling like its from a different skate scene entirely.

We are proud to present our friend Tino Del Zotto’s section from the video — also his first-ever part altogether ♥

PFP5 is Sass’ fifth full-length video since 2010, and can be purchased for $12 here. TWS has Andrew Singh’s part up for viewing, and Jenkem has Brandon Gironda’s section + a mini interview with Sass about the series.

Also forgot to mention it on Monday, but apparently, when we joked about this thing getting knobbed in like…2015, it was because someone actually fully really did roll in on it. Check the 1:12 mark of Girodana’s part if you already haven’t. Crazy.

Not quite sure why the willy grind has been making a comeback as of late, but there’s a lot of good stuff in Brandon Gironda’s part via the Westchester County-based PFP5 video (ender is wild) + an accompanying Q & A with Mike Sassano about the long-running video series.

Austyn Gillette with four minutes of L.E.S. Park footage you’ll actually want to watch the whole way through. Had to throw that tune on mute tho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

“When people are in public spaces or people are walking through public space…They conceive it as a kind of as a private property. Do you understand what I mean? So it’s like, ‘this is for this…Look there’s a bench here and it’s clearly meant for people who have shopped in that store to come here and eat this kind of fucking sandwich…’ They have a certain kind of possessive sense of everything.” — The always insightful Ocean Howell, with your #longread for the week via an interview about *shock* how skateboarders interact with public space in 2018.

We’re holding an editor’s meeting first thing this morning to see if it is possible to do a skateboard version of this New York mag article: “The Oral History of Four Loko in New York. A lot of cancelled following day sessions, and a lot of unnecessary nights in bookings coincided with this era writ large.

Gang Corp has a four-minute montage from their trip out to L.A. and S.F. + a new teaser for their upcoming video, Black Business.

Kyota made another video filmed exclusively on a Nintendo DS, aptly entitled DS2000. Includes a full Chris Milic part, who also has a bunch of fried tricks in this Frog Las Vegas trip montage.

ICYMI: Cyrus, Bobby Worrest, Challex Olson + others ripped through that Texas/Oklahoma/Mississippi part of country with Nike SB.

Two Brazilians came through and filmed his five minute shared New York part during that one magical week when the planters were moved away from the CBS Ledge. I know GX got all you psyched, but everyone please be careful filming in traffic, for the love of God.

Hopps rider Dustin Eggeling has a handful of New York clips in his new quick part for Live.

“I didn’t really receive shit out of it other than 11-16 year-olds hating me. Now that they’re 23 and they finally meet me, they tell me I’m a nice guy.” Love Skate Mag has an interview with Lurker Lou.

…anndd Skate Jawn has a new interview with Josh Kalis.

……aaaaaannnnnddddd Jim Thiebaud — someone who has received death threats over board graphics — has some thoughts for the “leave politics out of skateboarding” crowd.

Interviewing skaters alongside their moms could actually be a good interview series idea.

Quote Tweet of the Week:

(On that note, you might want to check out Stefan Janoski’s stop motion short film, “God I Need A Girlfriend.”)

Always loved how this clip came out, and remember lots of good times filming while for it. Rest in peace Miss Aretha ♥

When You’re Bad, You’re Bad

Happy birthday Ben Blundell! Photo via that social media platform that people stopped using in favor of Instagram being worse at doing the same exact things. No idea who took the photo ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The creators behind the first ever “Summer Trip to New York” montage to utilize 6ix9ine were nice enough to release it alongside the clip’s raw files for those not bold enough to find out what a full 6ix9ine song actually sounds like.

“Either you’re down or you’re not. New Orleans is insanely small, and not only am I the shop owner, but I skate, so at the end of the day at 7, I’m like on the corner with all boys drinking beer. I don’t want to be like, “uh no you’re not on, you are on.” It’s just dumb, so with me it’s just like man the whole city’s on.” Skate Jawn has a new interview with QS office favorite, Philly Santosuosso. (Related.)

Boil the Ocean’s Quasi Mother review is here to remind you that Josh Wilson is all-too-often forgotten in the Skateboarding’s Greatest Hair™ conversation. That reminds me to go pop a biotin right now…

You’ve no doubt caught it, but Adidas has a new video of the 50-year-old Mark Gonzales and the twenty-year-old Tyshawn Jones skating around lower Manhattan together. The “this is a state trooper building” bit made me laugh hehe.

Spencer Hamilton got two bangers at Big Screen in his new part on Thrasher.

…and Thrasher has the raw files of T-Funk’s polejam boardslide down the Columbus Park rail. (Half the park is still fenced off btw.)

Imagine driving from Austin to New York so that you could skate the triangle manual pad up the block from L.E.S. These dudes look like they drove from Austin to New York so they could skate the triangle manual pad up the block from L.E.S.

Paul Young uploaded a circa 2015 Nick Ferro footy tape, from the age before he began his current quest of mastering the switch hardflip.

Leo season begins today, but apparently so did Jinx season.

TWS has Andrew Singh’s part from the Westchester-based PFP5 video.

The Bunt is back and their first episode of the new season is with the last non #big #rail #guy to get S.O.T.Y., Wes Kremer.

Here is a minute of Mother extras and B-sides. Hope for more one day :)

Monday Links Are In Retrograde

If you need affirmation of how incredibly difficult it has been to do these posts over the past two weeks, look no further than the fact that Thrasher is posting astrology content, this girl is still looking for which one of you who spilled coffee on yourself at Herald Square, and apparently, EVERYTHING is “going right” in skateboarding right now…Spring can’t come soon enough.

“I used to be more of a character back in the day and just dive into the river, swimming for the board and making people laugh. I remember Jaime Reyes gagging because I was in there doing backstrokes. They say swimming in that shit helps your immune system.” Village Psychic spoke to Brian Wenning about some of the spots that were instrumental to his skating.

Caddo and Lou gave up on skateparks in 2016. It looks like it has been working out.

…aanndd John Valenti uploaded five minutes worth of B-sides featuring Lou, Caddo and Taylor Nawrocki from his N.Y. Archive video.

TWS uploaded all the raw footage from the Villains dudes’ trip to New York.

Theories resumed Elkin Raw files, which are always heavy on Leo and Aaron footy.

(Three raw clip links in a row, see what I mean? Springtime hellooo where r u…)

PFP5, the latest installment of Michael Sassano’s now long-running Westchester skate video series, will be premiering up in Peekskill on Saturday the 14th. Teaser here.

The crooked rail at Columbus Park is maybe the last place anyone expected to see a slappy front nose 270 A.K.A. the Explore Page, but there it was in Matthew Martin’s Hombre Hardware part.

“Cyclist stabs skateboarder during street spat.” Ok, the “It’s a fucking bike lane, asshole!”-guys are getting a bit out of hand.

Though Hurricane Maria obviously derailed the recent tradition of every skate crew spending January and February in Puerto Rico, the Scumco guys still made it down there for a fun trip video. Tons of Philly Santosuosso footage ♥

The Bunt’s newest episode is with Austyn Gillette.

Oh and, we have a new project with Nike SB coming out. April 14. More info soon :)

Since skate content is running low, here’s a link to a new Peewee Longway video that is four minutes of him reenacting the quaalude scene from Wolf of Wall Street.

And with militant veganism being so fashionable with New York skateboarders right now, here’s an informative article about eating right that isn’t Alex Olson yelling at you for eating a cheeseburger. Jk hi Alex ♥

Quote of the Week: “Lowkey if I ever get rich, I’m gonna buy Brick 9.” — John Choi

This clip got posted on April 8, 2007 (Marcus Garvey rails were a new spot then…), and dubbed “The Neverending Winter.” Same mood eleven years later (a lot of these spots are still around), though I wish the quality of the upload wasn’t full trash.
