Quartersnacks For Nike SB III

Quartersnacks is proud to present its third collaboration with Nike SB, which will be available at skate shops tomorrow, April 14. It will also be available on the QS webstore at 10 A.M. E.S.T. tomorrow. The capsule includes two colorways of a leather SB Blazer XT, a white mesh top, and a ringer tee. A small preview of the capsule and a list of retailers can be found here.

We were inspired by skateboarding’s recent flirtations with color, echoing back to its luminous roots rather than the brown pants era synonymous with this website’s early days. However, the sun did not shine down hard on us as we went out there during the first third of 2018. This clip was filmed in the second and third overtime of winter 2018, with a few free 72-hour trials of spring sprinkled between.

So far, 2018 has been about pushing around with chapped lips, dodging wind, and hoping to stumble on or rediscover something to instill that hope for the warmer days that are out there. Somewhere.

America’s Next Top Triangle

To everyone still @ing us on social media to let us know that The Triangle™ is back: no the fuck it’s not. The cement is shit, the pink bumps are shit, and nobody on the Frog team has responded to a “are you skating?”-text in a month :(

But we’re no less still hooked on triangles, desperate to restore the joy of E. 9th Street’s onetime premier destination for a 50% chance of getting hit by a car. Philly skaters forced Love Park into resurrection once City Hall was destroyed, and Muni became a natural alternative once Love met the same fate. However riddled with champagne problems New York skateboarding may be — we never had the luxury of being able to replace something as special as Love by walking across the street to a nearly-as-good spot.

Like an opioid epidemic, once the good designer shit runs scarce, the demand for shittier alternatives rises. And lately, people have been skating some shitty triangles.

None of us ever had to talk about each other’s bowel movements so much. Then we went to Mexico City for a week.

“Don’t drink the water!” is what they say — disregarding the fact that it’s impossible to avoid every little thing that has ever come in contact with the city’s tap. Whether it’s the lettuce in a sandwich or the ice in a sexy drink, some percentage of everything is tainted. Nobody escaped unscathed. We went from claiming 100 tacos in seven days, to fifty tacos, to eating Domino’s for lunch halfway thru the week because, like, how scary can bread and cheese be?

Between searching for public bathrooms, and after realizing a slight culture barrier between us and the people showing us around (they took us to Baker spots because we had a couple people paid to skateboard with us, and based on the videos we were watching, being good at skateboarding in Mexico means you can tailslide a fifty-stair round rail), this is how the week went. A true testament to the beauty of Mexico City is that despite our unanimous gastro-intestinal ailments, everyone still had an amazing time. And no, nobody gave a fuck about that stupid wall.

Thanks to everyone who showed us around, and to the cops that accepted our like ~$25 bribe (oddly enough, you can’t drink in public) ♥ Also, I’m ok with not hearing Kodak Black for a couple months.
