‘No Idea’ — The Full-Length Alltimers Video, is now live

It was mid-July 2017, hot out, and we were in an air conditioned bar enjoying some adult beverages. Ben Blundell walked in with some fire Celine glasses at 11 P.M., and a conversation that centered around how the skeleton of the inaugural Alltimers full-length was taking form, drifted towards another fashionable subject: fashion itself.

Even a year removed from MadeinTYO’s sleeper hit, we began to talk about Gucci polo shirts. Then, an offer was made. E.T. had to film a full-length video part, and in return, his sponsors would purchase him a Gucci polo as a reward.

If you want to be technical about it, Torey did in fact make him promise that it would be “the greatest skate video part of all-time.”

But what IS “time?” Recent research has indicated that time — not money — is the 21st century’s greatest commodity. Are you really going to waste it thinking about all the other video parts that came before it? Is E.T’s part in the Alltimers video better than Guy in Mouse? Is it better than Jason Byoun in Life is Goodie?

You’re really going to spend the world’s most precious commodity on those fickle questions? No, hopefully, you’re not an idiot.

Alltimers’ first full-length features full parts from Etienne “Gucci Polo” Gagne, Dustin “Skater You Would Be Most OK With Your Daughter Dating” Henry, and a shared part from Tyler Warren and Ben Blundell.

Appearances from Adrian Vega, Will Marshall, Dan Ericson, Brian Delaney, Zered Bassett, Conor Prunty, Adam Zhu, and Charles Rivard.

The QS webstore is restocked with new colors of the swim shorts, a couple new tees, and bags for summer Rockaway trips :) Thank you for the support ♥

Chris Jones’ Spirit Quest section is now playing over at Free. Really sick Soho noseslide opener, and generally some of the most creative (not in an annoying way obvs) + good-looking New York footage in recent memory. Perfect part.

Mehring put together a rad article about those couple of weeks that the Banks were open for The Skateboard Mag. See everyone there again in 2023 ;)

Every time Dustin Henry footage comes out, I remember that he’s my favorite skater that I’d be O.K. with my non-existent daughter dating. Jake Kuzyk uploaded “Savers,” his first clip since The Antisocial Video dropped last year, which features a bunch of those guys + Alltimers, Dime, etc. affiliates.

Would rather watch T.J. skate flat at T.F. than ________. That half cab flip was bomb.

Looks just like most skaters’ apartments in Chinatown, tbh.

Erik Ellington tries on some snakeskin Palace Chelsea boots with Jenkem.

There are some chill Rowan Zorilla clips in Genesis’ summer iPhone montage.

The Bunt talks to Eli Reed about how the hell he figured out to be good at skating that manual pad at the Boston Aquarium and what was up with the “Taking Care of Business” #musicsupervision in State of Mind. Is switch tre into the Courthouse still an N.B.D? P.S. Eli, that switch 5050 hubba in the Bronx is gone man.

Somehow missed this a week ago, but “Putnam Avenue” is a formidable entry into this year’s “Summer Trip to New York”-clip cycle, featuring a couple Euros.

Merchants of Ill in Montreal via Max Hull. See everyone tomorrow :) ♥

Boil the Ocean points you in the direction of Danny Garcia’s “All City roots” for the site’s annual summer video mixtape series.

Inquisitive Gentleman: “Who was the best skater at your wedding?”
Nick Boserio: “Me.”

Love it when a Migos song about buying expensive stuff for girls gets turned into an anthem about starting businesses and shit.

Sorry 4 da wait today, love you :)

The longest I’ve stared at a .gif of a skate trick maybe ever, but I get it now.

“It is best to always assume the potential to be cursed is near at hand to maintain ultimate protection.” Boil the Ocean on curses and hexes, and how skateboarding interacts with the supernatural.

“Truth be told, the part in The Fab Five when Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King, and them talk about how much they hate Duke is the sports doc equivalent of the triple-screen intro from Virtual Reality.” Frozen in Carbonite reviews The L.A. Boys, Colin Kennedy’s documentary about the creation of Gabriel Rodriguez, Rudy Johnson, Guy Mariano, and Paulo Diaz’s part from Ban This.

Max Palmer presents: “2Twisted,” the surprise sequel to last year’s “Twisted Illusions.”

Quick montage from Harry Bergenfield and the boys from the fall’s Drama video.

“POP Recycled” is an early frontrunner for best Euro clip of 2k17 even though all the footage is from 2k16. You know damn well that little kid’s lines down all the threes are gonna be in this week’s Top 10.

Jesse Alba, Nik Stain, Andrew Wilson, and the Polar team in Puerto Rico.

Kinda feel like the Kalis + Balbac interviews flew under the radar a bit because they were on Ride, but each installment has been great. The third and final one deals with a purported Smolik beef over Hubba Hideout claimers, not holding grudges, and a follow up on all the family + therapy stuff from Kalis’ Epicly Later’d.

Village Psychic has an interesting piece on the convergence of skate-friendly architecture, public space in former Soviet countries, and our current political climate.

Are times tough? Did you get kicked off the flow team? Did your friend with a rep job get fired? A wear test of a $16 sneaker purchased from a deli in Philadelphia.

Even before So Far Gone dropped and Herschel ate Jansport, Canada always had a hidden hand in shaping American culture. As skate scholars know, one of the most influential-yet-underappreciated thinktanks of 2000s skateboarding was Green Apple out in Winnipeg. The Bunt’s latest is with Mike McDermott, who brings us up to speed on Winnipeg’s best-known institution as it stands in the Trudeau era.

Devoted is an upcoming doc on the labor of love that is print media in 2017.

QS Sports Desk Play of the Week: Porzingis over Dwight, sure.

Damn, remember the mash-up era? ;)

Merry Christmas…kinda

Merry Christmas to whoever woke up with the stolen Beamer logo off Dre’s car under their tree.

Hate to pile on to 2016’s seemingly infinite supply of bad news, but this is the first year that we’re not coming through with a full Christmas clip. Although the past two have admittedly lost the steam of say 2007’s tour de force, 2010’s G.O.A.T. or 2012’s shockingly productive fall — 2016 is the year when adult life caught up, and skateboarding in November/December outside of Tompkins or a skatepark just didn’t go down like it used to. Below are a few ~moody~ bits from the summer (!!!) to fill the place of a would-be Christmas clip.

Eleven years in a row of by-far the longest running annual web clip series ain’t so bad. Shout out to the O.G. Bryan Chin from who we ripped the idea off in the first place back in the early 2000s. Hope to make it back for the next one.

Features Daniel Kim, Connor Champion, Josh Velez, Andre Page, John Franco, Akira Mowatt, Matthew Perez, Lurker Lou, Keith Denley, Alexander Mosley, Thom Musso, Pryce Holmes. Filmed by Andre Page and Pad Dowd.

BUT, keep in mind that none of that may matter at all, since Dustin Henry’s Antisocial Video part is still around to warm your heart this holiday season. Congrats again to Dustin for winning our first annual Skater You Would Be Most OK With Your Daughter Dating Award! #perfectboy

Dustin Henry wraps up his 2016 bid as “Skateboarder You Would Be Most Comfortable With Your Daughter Dating” with a starring role in “#myalltimers” — edging ever close to 2016’s leading frontrunner, Louie Lopez. It’s been a year full of upsets, and given Dustin’s steadfast commitment refusing to use swear words, not listening to Chief Keef, and a “Part of the Year” contender in the Antisocial vid, maybe he pulls away with the S.Y.W.B.M.C.W.Y.D.D. win this year.

The rest of the latest Alltimers video acts as an intro for Adrian Vega, Tyler Warren, Will Marshall and E.T. the Extraterrestrial + a visual space for Adam Zhu to do the ollie over the bumps at Alligator Ledge that everyone always claimed.

Who would you be most OK with your daughter dating?
