You can take the Bostonian out of Boston, but you can’t take the Boston out of the Bostonian. In the days of Joey Pepper’s Aesthetics section and Jahmal Williams riding for DNA, Boston was the epicenter of bump-to-bleacher skateboarding. Longing for those sweet green metal days and displaced from their homeland, some savvy New Englanders decided “Fuck going to Reggaeton Ledges” this past summer, and began their own propped up empire nearby. The crowd followed suit.
Other notable developments in Grand’s latest are Spencer Hamilton bringing his two signature moves to Columbus Park, and the QS Spot Desk being wrong about people needing Bondo to skate the one surviving bank under the 125th Street 1 train ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Features Spencer Hamilton, Nick Ferro, Dana Ericson, Connor Champion, Kevin Tierney and Brian Delaney. J.P. Blair on da lens.
Alltimers is the first of 500 skate crews that spent January in Barcelona to release a proper video of their trip. As reported on QS earlier, it rained for over half the time that the full squad was in town, which sent The 2016 Skateboarder You’d Be Most O.K. With Your Daughter Dating and his friends back to the poutine pastures of Canada with only a few clips for the final video. Everyone had a good time though :)
A couple of boys stayed behind for a month to wait out the rain — Brian Delaney and Dana Ericson, Alltimers newcomers and recurringwinter expats in the Catalan capital; E.T., who is still probably there; and Chuck M.V.P., the 2016 Skateboarder You’d Be Least O.K. With Your Daughter Dating, whose stolen passport was likely auctioned off to gypsies at MACBA for €20 and a bag of dirt.
As a bonus, we compiled all of @dutchmasterdelaney’s Instagram videos from the trip into one convenient clip. Give him a follow because every IG video that man makes is truly a work of art. Favorite editor in skateboarding right now.
Couldn’t upload it to YouTube because Travis Scott is a cop.
Our new capsule with Nike SB releases on Thursday, October 13 in skate shops worldwide. It includes a special, #lowkey colorway of the Bruin Hyperfeel, a heavyweight longsleeve pocket tee, and a Lamborghini of a wool coach jacket that exudes grown and sexy confidence. Thanks Ripped Laces for the love ♥
Skateboarding in 2016 is a strange place, and this early 2000s nostalgia is really hitting critical mass man. Whatever incarnation of Osiris still exists re-added Tyrone Olson and Peter Smolik to their team, a year after Smolik aired out the company for denying him a snow camo Navigator and pushing Slimer-colored footwear. “The Storm already passed homie, let’s get the hurricane on and the tornado.” I don’t know dude.
“Mitch Swongo and Associates” is the new one from the Western Mass boys, sure to get you feeling romantic about skating a high curb in a suburban bank parking lot. Includes Ben Bartle footage ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
“Danny Brady got NO swag. He’s also the team manager, so I’m probably gonna get kicked off for saying that.” Jenkem interviewed the perpetually viral Jamal Smith.
Yesterday, we were talking about how much American currency it would take for us to attempt a caveman boardslide on the rail that goes down from the middle stage at House of Vans. This guy crooked grinded it.
This part is way less ledge dance-y than I remember it. It’s more bump-to-cans and bump-to-fences than anything, and surprisingly #current in that regard. The song is still the worst rap song in a skate video ever unless someone skated to Wale.
