Given our contractual obligations to report all Migos-related skate media, and considering that Jim Greco’s third career arc is one of the funnest things to happen in pro skateboarding lately, this was a must-share.
Below is his thirty seconds of guest footage in Illegal Civilization 2, a new Odd Future-affiliated video being sold in sets of co-branded Spitfire wheels. He really seems to be pushing the Jeremy Klein homages to newfound levels of absurdity. Just look at the concoction he dreamt up at the site of The Greatest Trick Ever Done™. Between Greco skating the top ledge-that-isn’t-even-a-ledge and the “Enrique Lorenzo on Steroids” guy, that gap-to-ledge is undergoing quite the renaissance in 2014.
The 74-minute (it’s long) Illegal Civ 2 video should be available at shops now, for whatever price your shop charges for Spitfires is. It’s got a lot of teen angst and antics in it, but a lot of solid parts and GBE #musicsupervision decisions. Nakel, Louie Lopez and Kevin Bradley in particular have solid parts for a bro cam video. If skate companies are adamant about keeping hard copy media formats alive, they better get to work on shrink wrapping them alongside life’s necessities. A set of Spitfires is like a toothbrush or a stick of deodorant; there’s no way to waste money here :)
P.S. Quartersnacks turns nine today. If you see anyone who was in the first clip, buy them a drink.
