My Posse’s on Broadway

There have been a lot of long, lost items that I’ve been on the search for, and two have just recently come to light..

The Forgotten City.com posted the 411 Washington DC Metrospective a couple of days ago, and it is far and away the best regional montage in the history of regional montages. Until people from your city start doing switch flip front noses in Timbs, you can’t really compete with it. Even with Youtube and all that, I still haven’t come across it since about four years ago when they had a VHS dub of it at ABC.

This has nothing to do with skateboarding, but some random hip-hop blog uploaded 80 Blocks From Tiffany’s in eight parts on Youtube. If you have any interest in gangs, New York, the 70s/early 80s, you liked Style Wars, Downtown 81, Wildstyle or any documentaries from that era, it’s definitley a must watch (no, it’s not about art or graffiti). Otherwise it only floats around on shitty dvd-r copies on eBay.

Pardon me if I’m late on this, but when did Ryan Sheckler get down with Lil’ Jon and BME?

It’s going back up to 90-degree highs this week, enjoy tonight and tomorrow, because real summer is just about here..

Enjoy the last day in the streak of good weather, cause it is raining tomorrow.

A while back, Mooney offered to trade me a new pair of sneakers if I re-edited his part from the snackman video with his new footage. Since I haven’t posted a random throwaway Youtube clip in a bit, here’s what came out.

In other QS Youtube nonsense, here’s a short clip from the Baby Steps New York trip in 2005 in honor of this summer-esque weather we’re having, since its complete with one of the greatest summer anthems ever. Some of the first few tricks have been in QS clips.

Typically, when your parents drop extra commas and you put yourself in debt so that you may get a college education, you want to get your money’s worth (usually never happens). But Miles chooses to spend his time more wisley by going to school in order to make comic strips about beer runs instead of going to class.

I went on the Slap Message Board for the first time in about two years the other day, and it reaffirmed my opinion of 95% of skateboarders being losers who talk way too much. Here’s what I’m talking about: The Brengar Appreciation Thread, andThe “Supreme isn’t a real skateshop” Thread (that’s a real original topic). I can’t wait until the “Quarter Snacks isn’t a real skate site” thread rolls around.

After many searches, minimal coverage of the hipster party I was talking about was found. This is the only video I found and it sucks.

Just in case you haven’t seen it already, the Billy Rohan Epicly Later’d TV episode is worth a watch. “To be honest, this [the TF] is the worst place to skate in New York City.

DC footage always looks interesting, so the new blog DailyCrack.net should keep you entertained for a bit.

I know all of you couldn’t wait for this one: Jim Jones Presents the Dipset Skate Team: Dipskate – Part 2. Switch Mike has reportedly been spotted in training, perfecting his sess slides in order to be put on.

If anyone is holding Sendspace/Rapidshare/MegaUpload/Etc links, Torrents, or anything like that to episodes of Hollyhood, please send them to me. This looks too good to miss. And while I’m at it, if anyone knows where there’s a copy of the Aesthetics video floating around on the interweb, drop the link in the comments.

For the record, even though it seems like something I’d do, I don’t run the Old Jeezy website. I’m flattered that anyone would think I’d be capable of such brilliance, but unfortunatley I am not. And I don’t know enough about the streetwear or sneaker game to pull it off. But remember, “IT WOULDNT MATTER IF U DRAPED 50,000 DOLLARS ON UR FAT FUCKIN BODY YOULL STILL BE A FUCKIN TUB.”

The Snackman VS The Snow, Man

Unless you’re the type to head out to Drop In, chances are, you’re going to be spending your long weekend pretty skateboardless. No worries, plenty of time to get drunk, buy new Dunks, cry when Supreme doesn’t have your size, and make sure your outfit matches. Here are a few things to help you get through your Friday before you go out to get drunk, high, or whatever the hell you do when you can’t skate.

The New York Skate Movie Trailer: This was new to me, and honestly, it got me more psyched to go out and skate than any skate video I’ve seen in recent memory. It makes a pretty interesting thesis, suggesting that the core of street skating’s development actually happened in New York, and not California, so I’ll definitely be on line to catch this when it (supposedly) comes out this Spring.

Chairman of the Board is a pretty interesting article from the D.C City Paper about Darren Harper, and how he came up in skateboarding. It makes the same mistakes that pretty much every writer outside of skateboarding does, but is worth your time either way.

48 Blocks has been posting a lot of good things recently: German Nieves Interview, Window Shopping at it’s finest, and Classic SF Footage.

Jersey Dave: Banned From Boston

Pryce Holmes: Tallest Skater in New York City

This guy is my new favorite musical artist of all-time. Dude has five albums out. Five. I got a lot of catching up to do.

I don’t need a magazine cover to tell me that Lil’ Wayne is homo (Actually, yes I do), but he is officially in the ranks of Lupe, Pharell, The Pack, and the other skateboard rappers because of this. “The Block Is Hot” era needs a comeback.

Three 6 Mafia Vs. Being John Malcovich. Thank you God, for placing me on the same earth as these great people.

New York City plans to ban iPods from being used on city streets. Yeah, good luck enforcing that.

And finally, what better way to cure the wintertime blues than with Jeezy the Snowman, he’s iced out, plus he got snow, man!

Don’t forget about the Harold Event tomorrow. I’ll see all of you when it gets warmer, and the snow is gone.

And yes, this is, and probably forever will be, the earliest update in Quarter Snacks history. 7AM. And I have an 8:30 class. Grindin’.

Hardbody like Wu-Tang and Iron Maiden

Square Films has new clips up. The whiteboy that runs it says that he is putting up two more by next week, but I don’t believe him. You probably shouldn’t either.

I pretty much hate every skate video that comes out, but I just found the exception that I make every two or three years. Despite some questionable music choices (I don’t even like the music in my own video, so that shouldn’t even matter), Time Will Tell is a D.C. video that’s well worth your time, especially given the fact that D.C. footage looks better than footage from most other places.

I’m pretty sure that Three 6 Mafia is on their way to earning two best original song Oscars in a row with this masterpiece for the Rocky Balboa movie (let’s be serious, the song’s the only reason they bothered making that movie).

If you know about a “certain” new marble bench spot in a “certain” neighborhood in New York in front of a “certain” Duane Reade, you should probably get your few last sessions in there because it’s doubtful that place is going to be around for much longer.
