‘We had three garbage bags full of fireworks. We got through one before the cops showed up.’ — Sweet Waste AKA Black Boy White Boy

We’ve been optimistic about the possibility of Brick Squad Skateboards for a minute now. Birdman beat Gucci to the punch (clearly, it’s difficult to start a skateboard imprint from jail), and dropped a line of YMCMB decks. It would be interesting to know which board production house got hit off with the order on these, and if they got paid with the title to a 2008 Escalade, or sexual favors from a Nicki Minaj stunt double.

This spot was pretty cool when it was around. What the hell did they expect when they built it, a crowd of sunbathers?

Bring back Big Apple Skate.

A.skate, a foundation dedicated to teaching kids with autism how to skateboard, is looking for volunteers to help with a clinic at House of Vans next Sunday (July 10) from 12 to 4 P.M. Register on their website and contribute to a great cause.

In the event that you were looking for a safe bet, low-bust ledge spot in Midtown, you should know that Breezy Ledges is under scaffolding, and temporarily unskateable. On the opposite end of things, has anyone skated Paine Webber in 2011 yet? They have some Indian security guard there now who takes his job way too seriously. Security agencies really need to sit these dudes down and go, “Listen, your sole function is to kick out skateboarders, you’re not saving people’s lives here.”

Not to advocate criminal and ignorant behavior, but skateboarders could hypothetically adopt this method to further our cause in successfully skating two-second busts like the Fuji building, the Fifth Avenue Apple store, Lincoln Center, etc. Turn every spot into an overcrowded skatepark until the riot police show up.

One of skateboarding’s greatest party parts…Brad Johnson in Western Edition’s Did It video. The sort of part you put on before you go skate knowing you’re gonna hit da club after you get your trick. More people need to do frontside 5-0 front shove outs. (Switch and regular.)

“In your white tee shirt or a three piece suit…It don’t matter what you wear, all that matters is who you with.”

Some bootleggers out in Singapore made a fake Supreme shirt with Ty on it. They didn’t try too hard to pass it off as real.

T-Bird came through with a 4th of July dance mix for you to get buck to.

Quote of the Week:

Like everyone else, we gave up on Myspace in 2006, but thank you to everyone who helped us reach 2,000 fans on Facebook. Now on to 3,000. Even bigger thanks if you follow us on Twitter too.

If it hasn’t already been made clear, I pretty much took the month of November off from this stupid website. Since I have been getting hate mail and death threats pasted on my door in blood, I figured it would be in my best interests to begin updating. So this is a prelude of sorts..

I have some junk from Pryce Leroy’s middle-schooled themed birthday, and despite promising myself I’d never post skatepark footage, I’m going to have to alter my principles for a little bit for the sake of updates. The tape is currently locked in a Lower East Side dungeon, so I need to get that before anything, until then, Sam posted some youtube footage and some photos on his stupid blog from it. The Green Diamond also has some photos from it.

Ian Reid made a Youtube channel, and appearantly pissed off a lot of sneakerheads for a very blasphemous act (look at the comments). The rest of the videos are here.

The new Big Apple Skate promo is probably going to make you crosseyed.

Footage coming soon. Chuurrrch.

I’m just saying what needed to be said. Don’t act like it’s not true.

In other unrelated happenings…

Why exactly does Habitat refuse to premiere their video in New York? (City, not state)

Josh Kalis x Yung Joc. Look at all the people getting tight in the comments for changing the music. Meet me in the maaaaalllll…

48 Blocks has an in-depth RB Umali interview up, just in case you missed it. It covers the making of the best East Coast video that isn’t Photosynthesis among other things. They also got the Harold Hunter tribute video up in two parts.

Thanks for making us #1 (in New York, we’re working on being #1 in the world)

Chokin’ Off a Whole Pound of Purple, Famous Like the Ninja Turtles

Here’s a bunch of junk that went on the internet recently. Shoulders, chest, pants, shoes..

Big Apple Rape recently put up a new throwaway clip. I can’t really co-sign anything using the musings of the corniest dude in music right now (also known as “the [self-proclaimed] best rapper alive”), but the skating more than makes up for including the music of a dude who has said “I’ve done kissed Juvenile and B.G…no homo.” (That’s word for word.)

The real Static III trailer is out. When is this dude going to realize that there’s other rap music out there besides Jeru? Regardless, Static II was the last certified classic video in my book, I can’t really see this one falling short of that title by the looks of the trailer.

Cuts Out of Florida is the first regional video to keep my attention for it’s entire duration in a long time. Pretty soon all of you need to realize that all the inside jokes you include in your two-minute long intros only matter to the people involved in the video, everyone else watching it just gets annoyed. COOF spares the nonsense and gets right into the skating, which is something rare these days, although certainly appreciated.

Matt Mooney was kicked off of Starks Laces and replaced with everyone’s favorite former #91 on the Bulls.

Go Skateboarding Day 2007 photos.

The Es Game of Skate is on July 24th this year at Tompkins. I got my $$$ on Bradley.

Quote of the Year:
White Man #1: “Wasn’t there a guy named Jim Morrisey?
White Man #2: “No, that was Jim Morrison.
Mooney: “Yeah, that’s the guy that invented The Muppets.

Made public by popular demand. Discuss.

By no means am I exaggerating when I say that this is one of the best things on the internet in a long time.

The little kids are back at it. Even though I don’t normally co-sign things edited with music that doesn’t mention cocaine-sales, Big Apple Skate has a new montage.
