Rolls-Royce

Spot: Midtown Manhattan — Midtown East

Spots: Most of the ledges in Midtown are benches or planters of some sort, so this is a key location to stop by if you happen to have a proficiency for manuals. There is an ensemble of six foot long blocks on both sides of the building, all approximately a foot-and-a-half in height. They can be skated as ledges, but only for slide tricks, because the edge will never grind, no matter how much wax you put on it.

There is also an unnecessarily high eight stair at the end of the block on the southern side of the building that lands into a hill. Running parallel to Madison Avenue, is also a lower, twenty-five foot long manual pad that gradually ascends in height to be about two-and-half feet tall.

Bust — ♦♦♦ / Half-and-half: Rolls-Royce is still a night spot, but has a fairly low bust factor in terms of eastside Midtown spots. You have a fair shot at not getting kicked out at all, because no security desk is near the oft-skated portions of the spot.

Location: 49th Street and Madison Avenue. Take the B, D, F or V to 47th Street-Rockefeller Center, skate north on Sixth Avenue until you reach 49th, make a right and skate east on 49th for two avenues until you reach Madison Avenue.
