Spots: Midtown
Update — 20twentysomething: This ledge has been blocked off by scaffolding for what seems like six thousand years. It’d be a bust even if it was open, so whatever.
New York’s smaller version of the defunct keyhole ledge at MACBA in Barcelona. Backside for regular and not wide enough for tailslides.
Bust — ♦♦♦♦♦: You’re not allowed to skate here — obviously. People have been known to get lucky, but “lucky” means five minutes for this spot. There are cameras everywhere, and you’ll typically get one or two tries. Police are sometimes stationed inside and may give you a summons for skating here. They’re usually mean.
Location: 27th Street and First Avenue in Gramercy / Kips Bay.
