Sunset Park

Spots: Brooklyn — Other Neighborhoods

Spot: On the 7th Avenue side of the park, is a long kinked rail, going down a five-flat-eight set-up. The space between the two sets is fairly long, making it possible to skate down the five, and over the flat portion of the rail. Otherwise, the eight can be skated as a standalone obstacle. All of the rails are round, medium-height, and the runways are smooth/devoid of any cracks. There’s also a normal five-set at the entrance to the pool, and another eight-stair round rail in the far corner of the park.

Bust — ♦ / Rare Normally, the Parks Department does not care if you skate here.

Location: 42nd Street and 7th Avenue in Sunset Park. Take the N or R train to 45th Street, and skate east on 45th for four blocks, until you hit 7th Avenue. Make a left and skate north until you see the park. The entire park is on a stone-embroidered hill, so it’s impossible to miss.
