Here’s a trailer for J.P. Blair’s video, Outdated, which premiered at House of Vans this past Thursday. If you missed that premiere, NJ Skateshop in Hoboken is holding another one this Saturday (March 24th) at 8 P.M. Since it’s unlikely that this video will ever make it to DVD (Jersey Dave insists otherwise…we’ll see), did anyone happen to bootleg it?

We went to Flushing this past Saturday to get as far away from the white people Source Awards A.K.A. St. Patrick’s Day as possible. Others went to Polish sections of Brooklyn to avoid the hell. Given their affiliations with “green,” the Green Diamond released an honorary clip of that dreadful day. Nothing like a classic by Pitbull to help you forget about the existence of St. Patrick’s Day.

What’s with this sudden spike of interest in King of New York? Does the guy responsible for the Total Recall remake with Colin Farrell have a vendetta against all great movies from 1990, and is he considering a King of New York remake next, with Jake Gyllen Halal in Christopher Walken’s role, and Terry Kennedy in his big-screen debut instead of Laurence Fishburne? What does this have to do with anything? Linsanity is over (clearly), so we’re running on empty…

Jake Johnson followed through on his idea of a small town, “grassroots” skateboard tour. Though you’d only know about Map Masquerade if you check the Slap forum (hence us being three weeks late on it), him and several others have driven from San Francisco to Vegas to Albuquerque to Austin, and are currently in New Orleans, not doing demos or signings, but simply “skating with a group of [local] skaters in the way they skate.” They’ve been hiding product in every city on the list, and you can follow the tour on A Sense of Direction.org (it also has a list of Instagram accounts associated with it, which give clues as to where product is hidden.)

The first three web edits from the Map Masquerade tour: San Francisco (“When I think San Francisco skateboarding, I think KRS-One”), Las Vegas, Albuquerque.

We finally made it onto Instagram. Follow @ Quartersnacks. It’s late because somebody registered “quartersnacks” before we had the chance to, and we decided to avoid it altogether out of stubbornness. Turns out that dude is a total bro, and was down to give up the username. Thanks to the homie Aidan for being a good sport about it. Never knew how many people were actually on Instacraze either, it’s wild. (Funny how everyone has the same cell phone now.)

Green Diamond 2011 leftovers video. Features Nick Boserio killing it, Malfa utilizing the newly-reinvogorated slappy crook, and Brian Anderson footage.

Frozen in Carbonite on parallels between Oscar Wilde and the new Sk8Mafia video. “I think Oscar Wilde might possibly have skated, but not extensively. He would have morphed into the kid who sits at the spot, getting up occasionally to try a few soft-footed nollie b/s bigspins, commenting on everyone’s style ‘n shit.”

There’s a nice feature with Steven Lora (“Lil’ Steven”) on Slap right now. A lot of people linked the video for it, but neglected to mention it was a full-on article. Good to see the young kids who rip at 12th Street every day getting some coverage. The catch frame on the back lip flip-out sequence is solid.

Billy McFeely is a sick actor.

In all honesty, the Skavenger BMX video is better than most of the skate videos to come out this year. If you make skate videos, you could learn a thing or ten from these dudes.

If you didn’t get a new du-rag in your stocking this Christmas, at least you can watch the latest “Krispy Du-Rag” clip with your dusty one on. Switch front 5050s up hubbas, Rob Gonyon skating to Future, etc.

Josh Stewart’s site has Poisonous Products DVDs for sale. $10, and you don’t need to wait for it to arrive from Canada.

Who would have thought that three years after it was in the background of Handycam Snacks, and two years after someone thought it would be a good idea to edit ledge dancing to it, that MGMT “Electric Feel” Hippest-Song-of-2008 title-holder would suddenly become awesome thanks to French and Waka? And let’s agree that “I love when my girls gay(e), you can call me Marvin” is the best-worst rap line of 2011.

Quartersnacks turns six today. Thanks to everyone for their support, visits, spreading the word, following us on Twitter, adding us on Facebook, or whatever else. It means a lot, thank you. Here are our first four clips from the fall of 2005: September / premiere clip, October, November (Juelz Santana was a really big deal in 2005), December / Christmas.

The Chrome Ball Incident posted up scans of a Skateboarder article by Mike O’Meally about 9/11, in addition to a few other relevant things.

Dylan Rieder discovers another really high thing to skate at the Seaport. Hopefully, this new shoe coincides with a new video part.

Last week, there was a bit of confusion about how to skate a new bump in Fort Greene that sprouted about after Hurricane Irene. This photo of Piro Sierra and the subsequent words should explain everything perfectly. The people whose house it’s in front of probably had a fun week yelling at skateboarders.

How exactly is Los Angeles the best city for skateboarding? Historically, weather and industry-wise, yes, obviously. New York doesn’t belong in the top three either (we’re willing to trade ten of our spots for an unknobbed version of that Chinatown Ledge though), but it seems like everyone who comes back from L.A. in 2011 says they only skated Stoner Park during their visit.

Lows are beginning to hit the fifties this week, which means fall is officially here. Buy some hoodies.

Projections on a $30,000+ pricetag for the Alex Olson x Dylan Rieder Charity Shirt were way off, because it only sold for $41. That’s enough for maybe five beers.

“They Hollywood as Hell”

Some Norwegians from Matix Clothing flew out to New York, and posted up a well-done trip montage on Vimeo. The most impressive manuver in the video is a 360 flip down that awful double-set on 39th Street and Broadway. Does anyone want to buy Quartersnacks a T2i by any chance?

Seldom-seen footage of the switch big flip over the Fish Gap. Apparently, it was in some Focus video New York montage. If it’s not on the internet, it may as well have never happened. It’s online now, so everyone could strike it off the “heard about it, but never saw the footage” list. Most of that list actually has to do with big flips.

Anyone who grew up watching E.S.T. videos and Metrospective clips definitely looked up to Danny Falla (a back tail backside flip out over the Flushing grate was pretty massive in 2002…there weren’t legions of Europeans flying in to do misty flip crooked grinds over the grate gap back then), so it’s cool to see him getting more coverage these days.

There’s a new, stupid up rail in SoHo. Someone is probably going to get murdered on it. It’s 100 times more dangerous than New York’s original [knobbed] Up Rails, and those were dangerous.

Michael Gigliotti put together one last clip before he says goodbye to New York and skateboarding for quite some time. Features mostly skatepark footage, Little Alex, and probably the last footage of Giglotti until his Mariano in Fully Flared-level comeback part in 2018.

Speaking of Gigliotti, The Shady One, and the Homie Pro, they have the finest section in the 40-minute Diamond Days compilation. Brian Delatorre has the best music/skating combo, and E.J. appropriately has the curtains. ¡TOMA!

“They Hollywood as hell,” says UNIS graduate Joakim Noah. UNIS should have taught him that the proper phrasing is “they are Hollywood as hell.” They probably couldn’t teach him much about being more effective on offense though.
