Our friend Danny Weiss was recently involved in a serious accident. Any help with his medical costs is appreciated. Get well soon Weiss.

Here’s the circa ~2007, pre-Bronze montage Peter Sidlauskas made to the eight-minute entirety of “Purple Rain.” Features a Shut-era Shawn Powers, a young Gonyon, a hesh B.D., and a bowler hat Derrick Z. Shout out to Esteban for re-uploading :)

Zered has a quick minute of line-heavy new footage out.

“Get that piece of…camera out of my face.” Another VHS edition of Lurk NYC’s “N.Y. Times” series is now live. Daytime midtown footage + lo-fi picture quality = ♥♥♥

Part one of the Josh Kalis “Video History” series is now live. Kind of touches on some of the same stuff as his Epicly Later’d, but a bit more personal and anecdote heavy. Amazing that so much of that early nineties footage is so well preserved.

Germany’s Solo mag caught up with Pontus Alv for an extra-detailed interview about the Polar video, the classic “r full videos #relevant?!”-discussion, the origins of the title, and how he still hates the song he skated to in Mad Circle’s Five Flavors.

So far, the only plus side to extended Instagram videos is this J.B. Gillett warm-up clip.

Skateboard Story interviewed Philly Santosuosso from Humidity Skateshop.

Nollie pop lord and former Inkwell office resident Brendan Carroll’s Static 5 part is now online, aanndd Zach Moore put Mike Heikkila’s Transplants part on YouTube as well.

An allegiance to track pants unlike any other in history. Also a pretty great part :)

A short documentary about the first “skateboard track” or um, snakerun.

My BFF Thando just dropped the video for his first single. Video by Adam Zhu.

Upon hearing Prince had died, one of the first things that popped to mind was Chris Milic’s It’s a Secret part. I YouTubed it once I was back at a computer, and the comments revealed that I was not the only one: “This made me start listening to Prince more.” Everyone loves a lazy discussion about the #importance of skate videos in 2016, but they still leave long-lasting imprints when done right. Whether they’re watched off an old tube TV, a computer screen, or a cell phone really doesn’t matter.

Not much of a “first weekend of summer,” but oh well…

After temporarily maxing out on ignorance with the Forrest Edwards re-edit, we took an example from the recent direction of Baker Boys music supervision. Filmed from January through maybe one day ago, hence substantial greenery increases between varying Columbus Circle clips. Be back on Tuesday. Have a good weekend.

Features Keith Denley AKA Chief Keith, Andre Page, Luis Tolentino, Ben Nazario, Galen Dekemper, Dave Cado, Matthew Perez, Kadeem Walters, Ryan Chin, Lui Elliot, Ritch Swain, Elijah Cole, Jonathan, Josh Velez, Brendan Carroll, Brian Clarke, Sweet Waste, Connor Champion, Tyler Tufty, and Thando Beschta.

Oh, last but not least: Free Amanda Bynes! She got arrested for throwing a bong out of a 36th story window in midtown. To think all of this could have been avoided if Drake simply complied and murdered her vagina.

Merry Christmas

December 25th, 2010 | 3:12 am | Video & Remixes | 21 Comments

Here’s the annual jazzy mood piece. Filmed throughout the past three months. Twenty-percent of the total eleven minutes was filmed on one miraculous twenty-five degree night in Midtown, something that is otherwise unprecedented in all of our over-eighteen-years-of-age existences. Complete Christmas miracle if there ever was one. Thanks to everyone who supported, visited, and spread the word about Quartersnacks this past year. First person who points out the grape soda BGPs gets a free Quartersnacks tee shirt (when the second batch comes in, which should be relatively soon.) Somebody please buy Josh a set of white wheels for Christmas, the lime is really starting to offend everyone. He’s “dreaming of a white-wheeled Christmas.”

Features: Jason Lecras, Tyler Tufty, Connor Champion, Max Palmer, Dennis Feliciano, Josh Wilson, Jersey Dave, Shawn Powers, Matthew Mooney, Billy McFeely, Torey Goodall, Vladamir Kirilenko, Thando Beschta, DJ Roctakon, Ted Barrow, Ty Lyons, Emilio Cuilan, Gabe Tennen, Pad Dowd, Galen Dekemper, Miles Marquez, Alexander Mosley, Josh Velez, Andre Page, Kevin Tierney, Geo Moya, Isak Buan, some lil’ kids, Pryce Holmes.

Big thank you to the contributing filmers: Andre Page, Dennis Feliciano, Paul Young, Joe Bressler, Martin Wilson, Larry Bao, Paulgar.

What’s the song for the Christmas clip?
John Coltrane. Nothing too crazy.
That’s corny.
The last clip I made was to ‘Fly Like a G6,’ give me a break.

Here’s an external link to download the clip as an .M4V for iPhones and iPods. 147.8MB. YouTube version here.

Gone So Long

The QS3 companion piece. The spring collective. The-skating-in-SoHo-at-2-AM-and-getting-eggs-thrown-at-you documentary. The tradition of dirty lenses. Doing this for Memorial Day weekend, whether you’re spending it on your board, at your grill, or in Seaside Heights with the homie, The Situation. The 48 hours promise was a bit off, but you know how that goes. There’s another one around the corner (ok, well maybe not around the corner, but a few blocks down. So if I have footage of you, and it’s not in here, it’ll be in the next one. You know who you are.)

Miles Marquez, Josh Velez, Pad Dowd, Galen Dekemper, Matthew Mooney, Jerry Mraz, Jason LeCras, Justin White, Ben Nazario, Thando Beschta, Brian Clarke, & Watermelon Alex.

Contributing camera-holders: Justin White & Jake Hanly.

Merry Christmas

Usually, I start these things some time around the 20th or 21st of December and see how I like them over the next couple of days before Christmas. This time around, I started about 2 hours before midnight on Christmas. So, a lot of hours in FCP, a few dozen cross dissolves, and three or four coffees later, this is what I came up with.

Its a typical QS December 25th / End of the year mood piece with pianos and shit. Handycams, flip cams and some three-chips here and there. Dusty and dirty lenses and bad filming on my part included of course.

You know the drill — part one is the homies, part two is the roster. It is the fifth year anniversary of QS Christmas clips and I think next year is bound for a full-scale Weiss comeback to his former 2005 glory. Hopefully they re-model Lincoln Center with something that he can kickflip nose manual this time next year.

Features: Adrian Vega, some Boston dudes, German Nieves, Allen Siegler, Ian from Union, Dennis Feliciano, Keith Denley, Jersey Dave, the Gothic Raver, Alex, Shawn Powers, Staten Island Adrian, Tohmi Shiroyama, Ty Lyons, Aaron Szott, Danny Weiss blowing it as usual, Isak Buan, Francesco Pini, Taji Ameen, Kevin Teirney, Ian Reid, Pad Dowd, Galen Dekemper, Miles Marquez, Thando Beschta, Benjamin Nazario, Matthew Mooney, Vladimir Kirilenko, DJ Roctakon.

Thanks to everyone who contributed footage: Justin White, Jimmy Marketti, David Spodofora, Dennis Feliciano, JP Blair, Anthony Beckner, Alex Rialdi, Pad Dowd, Joe Cups.
