Watermelonism 3 is the latest from Alexander Mosley, the most esteemed traveller that many of us know. Filmed in Puerto Rico, Colombia and New York, and uploaded online just before he dips off to the southern hemisphere for an undetermined amount of time / however long the upcoming winter lasts. While more mainstream corners of the skate nerd world are gassed off the #rare #Gino #appearance in Boys of Summer, we’re over here reveling in any morsel of Ben Nazario or Paul Tucci footage.

Alex has a new striped edition of his boards and a new tee over on his site, Watermelonism.com, so you should go support the cause over there :)

Don’t Look Like That: End of Summer 2013

We’re three weeks past our Labor Day deadline for End of Summer clips, Dre is back to wearing colors besides white, and we’ve been experiencing some 50-degree mornings, so this is more like a Start of Fall clip.

The past summer was weird. Our research of recent visitor trends revealed a massive increase of Brooklyn readers, so we were advised to up the wallie and wallride count in this video by a whopping 80%. In fact, Josh Velez took it upon himself to enter the wallie arc of his career some seven years earlier than he initially anticipated to remedy this disconnect between the site’s content and its readers/viewers. Also, there are an inordinate amount of Jersey Shore spots in this clip to add to the weirdness.

Features Zered Bassett, Atlanta Shane, Haffa, Galen Dekemper, John Diaz, Ron Deily, Josh Velez, Pryce Holmes, Elijah Cole, Lui Elliot, Kadeem Walters, Ritch Homie Swain, Torey Goodall, Shawn Powers, Andre Page, Matthew Perez, Lurker Lou, Brendan Carroll, Tyler Tufty, Quim Cardona, Gavin Nolan, Paul Tucci, and Alexander Mosley.

Have a good weekend.

Beef Patty is Now Online

For the second week in a row, we are going to postpone Monday Links until Tuesday in order to feature an excellent New York-based skateboard video.

Johnny Wilson’s new video, Beef Patty, is now live on Vimeo. It’s from the same crew behind Video and Space Heater, and somehow on a whole level better than those past videos, which were both quite good themselves. All three came out in the past year-and-a-half, so how these dudes manage to get so much footage while avoiding familiar Manhattan trappings is pretty absurd (always nice to see a New York video without a single trick at the Courthouse Drop.) Add it to the rotation along with Solo Jazz, and pass the link on to any of your dumb friends who have ever given that “The skateparks are ruining skateboarding” speech.

New parts from Cyrus Bennett, Paul Tucci, Andrew Wilson, Loose Trucks Max, no apparent Corey Rubin sighting :( and appearances from a whole bunch of others. If you need an explanation as to how Loose Trucks Max got his name, please consult the close-up of the boardslide at the beginning of his part (15:30.)

You should also probably follow Johnny’s Vimeo account because he has a throwaway reel live on there every week or two.
