It’s Just Another Cyber Monday

Do you have $99,000 lying around? Want to own a skatepark [a lil’ over an hour from the city]? Peekskill’s 2nd Nature park is for sale. No cybermonday promo code for that though ;)

The promo for the upcoming Late Nite Stars full-length video went live last week. (Yes, a Trung sighting is included.)

Shari White made a new 11-minute edit called “Gleek / Blueberries,” featuring a solid chunk of Dustin Henry footage + appearances from Una, Breana, Nelly, Stafhon, Shealy, Chandler Burton and a mini curtains section from Evan Wasser.

The Good Times of Yesterday, Today — Pangea Jeans & John Shanahan’s ‘ROADRAGE’ Video

The old proverb goes something like, “Yeah, now well, the thing about the old days is… they the old days.”

Yet for all the handwringing that gets done about things changing and spots disappearing, there sure are a lot of remaining markers of the old days for nostalgia exercises. Take for instance “ROADRAGE,” the new edit from John Shanahan’s Pangea Jeans imprint, filmed on the same camera they probably filmed Real’s Non Fiction video on in 1996. In it, you’ll find the Battery Park three-stair that Gino nollie back heeled in The Chocolate Tour (with a Las Nueve Vidas De Paco-looking nollie backside flip floating down it.) The Greenwich Street windowsill ledges where Harold Hunter did the sweaty backside heelflip at! Tricks at the upper portion of Pyramid Ledges! The L.A. Department of Water and Power Building! The past is — at a bare minimum — thriving.

‘Did you see Ty & Josh’s clips from the Depeche Mode concert?’

Still got some loose sizes of holiday QS gear on sale in the webstore ⛵️ Thanks for supporting what we do :)

“I tell Bill all the time, ‘I don’t have that many video parts left in me.'” Farran Golding profiled Tyshawn Jones and Bill Strobeck for GQ.

We were out in Argentina last month, and were lucky enough to get shown around by Eze Martinez (Milton’s brother, yes.) He’s got an incredible section in the new Cons Argentina edit. There’s something extra fun in watching siblings who skate at absolute opposite ends of the skate spectrum excel in their respective corners at this high of a level. (No Milton footy in this video though.)

Five Favorite Parts With Neil Herrick

Interview by Farran Golding

The year started off with this series talking to Tony Hawk, so it felt appropriate to bring it closer to home as we wind it down.

Neil Herrick has the distinction of dropping one of the first great parts this year — filmed locally or otherwise — in Brandon Stepanow’s Open Container video, which is definitely worth running back if February feels like an eternity ago. It had a timeless, gimmick-free feeling of a section that could be dropped into any video from any era of street skating and fit, so we had Farran ask Neil about his inspirations.

Brandon Stepanow’s ‘Open Container’ Video

Just in time for today’s preview of spring weather, we are premiering Brandon Stepanow‘s Open Container video, which IRL premiered in Brooklyn late last month.

Filmed mostly in New York and New Jersey, Open Container features Eric Swick’s abilities to make manual pads appear out of nowhere, a shared part from Noah Singleton + Jasper Stieve (with his third part in three months?), Richie Blackshaw charging through factory alley crust, the most “what in the wide wide world of sports is going on here?”-section imaginable from Will “This Guy.” Nieves, a well-rounded + much-deserved ender from Neil Herrick, and a slate of Fred Gall cameos peppered throughout.

For the hard copy purists, you can buy Open Container on DVD here.
