‘No Idea’ — The Full-Length Alltimers Video, is now live

April 16th, 2018 | 2:23 pm | Daily News | 6 Comments

It was mid-July 2017, hot out, and we were in an air conditioned bar enjoying some adult beverages. Ben Blundell walked in with some fire Celine glasses at 11 P.M., and a conversation that centered around how the skeleton of the inaugural Alltimers full-length was taking form, drifted towards another fashionable subject: fashion itself.

Even a year removed from MadeinTYO’s sleeper hit, we began to talk about Gucci polo shirts. Then, an offer was made. E.T. had to film a full-length video part, and in return, his sponsors would purchase him a Gucci polo as a reward.

If you want to be technical about it, Torey did in fact make him promise that it would be “the greatest skate video part of all-time.”

But what IS “time?” Recent research has indicated that time — not money — is the 21st century’s greatest commodity. Are you really going to waste it thinking about all the other video parts that came before it? Is E.T’s part in the Alltimers video better than Guy in Mouse? Is it better than Jason Byoun in Life is Goodie?

You’re really going to spend the world’s most precious commodity on those fickle questions? No, hopefully, you’re not an idiot.

Alltimers’ first full-length features full parts from Etienne “Gucci Polo” Gagne, Dustin “Skater You Would Be Most OK With Your Daughter Dating” Henry, and a shared part from Tyler Warren and Ben Blundell.

Appearances from Adrian Vega, Will Marshall, Dan Ericson, Brian Delaney, Zered Bassett, Conor Prunty, Adam Zhu, and Charles Rivard.

Truck + mixtape dropping soon

These “new old” clips can be hit-or-miss (often miss), but Tombo’s 2000-2010 one that dropped late last week is an incredible document. It encapsulates the entire first decade of east coast skateboarding in this millennium — brown pants, first-wave cellar door searchers, Justin Barnes cameos, I-Paths, ABC Ledges, etc. Also, why does it still feel like Brandon Westgate has been 20-years-old for the past 15 years?

It’s that time of year when the Barcelona clips really start to roll in. Spencer Hamilton, Dana Ericson, Brian Delaney, Nick Ferro and Wade D. went out to the land of zero skate spots and came back with a sick clip for Grand Collection.

Who Kid has the best part of 2018 so far [with no skate footage.]

Yeah, there’s plenty of novelty clips of dudes skating in Timbs, but this guy hardflipped a triple set in a pair. Honestly can’t wait for the QS x Timberland SB collab.

Jesse made a throwaway iPhone/skatepark clip, but even he admitted it kinda sucks ;)

Our bud Adam Abada wrote an article about the skate scene in Ghana for MC.

Chris Mulhern dropped 6 minutes of loosies in anticipation of his upcoming full-length.

I mean…there’s gotta be an easier way?

Much respect to Uru out in Japan for distributing and spreading the word about QS, Alltimers and other hot skateboard brands in the far east. Skateboard Story has an interview with him about his operation.

Yo, shout out to the damn Nine Club for bigging up the Louie and Tiago remix. FRANKLY, us around the office felt it was among our best work in recent history, but it didn’t seem to get the traction we were envisioning for it. Glad to see it put some smiles on some faces out there. Tell a friend to tell a friend to tell a friend.

Watching Drake take money from people in the backwards version of the “God’s Plan” video hasn’t gotten any less funny in the past three weeks.

QS Sports Desk Play of the Week: Fuck the NCAA. Respect to the players.

Quote of the Week: “Quartersnacks? Is that like a pun about fat quarterbacks?” — Girl on the Street

Just about had it up to here with this winter bullshit…

Bump To Bleacher 2.0

October 11th, 2017 | 11:15 am | Daily News | 2 Comments

You can take the Bostonian out of Boston, but you can’t take the Boston out of the Bostonian. In the days of Joey Pepper’s Aesthetics section and Jahmal Williams riding for DNA, Boston was the epicenter of bump-to-bleacher skateboarding. Longing for those sweet green metal days and displaced from their homeland, some savvy New Englanders decided “Fuck going to Reggaeton Ledges” this past summer, and began their own propped up empire nearby. The crowd followed suit.

Other notable developments in Grand’s latest are Spencer Hamilton bringing his two signature moves to Columbus Park, and the QS Spot Desk being wrong about people needing Bondo to skate the one surviving bank under the 125th Street 1 train ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Features Spencer Hamilton, Nick Ferro, Dana Ericson, Connor Champion, Kevin Tierney and Brian Delaney. J.P. Blair on da lens.

On an unrelated note, congrats to Cyrus for going pro ♥ Revisit his Mama’s Boys part below, as it was the first Cyrus part we ever posted on QS and the first one any of us ever saw. Solid batch of those tricks could easily still fit into a 2017 Cyrus part :)

‘Yo, Best Idea’ — Alltimers in Spain Video

fathers day

Alltimers is the first of 500 skate crews that spent January in Barcelona to release a proper video of their trip. As reported on QS earlier, it rained for over half the time that the full squad was in town, which sent The 2016 Skateboarder You’d Be Most O.K. With Your Daughter Dating and his friends back to the poutine pastures of Canada with only a few clips for the final video. Everyone had a good time though :)

A couple of boys stayed behind for a month to wait out the rain — Brian Delaney and Dana Ericson, Alltimers newcomers and recurring winter expats in the Catalan capital; E.T., who is still probably there; and Chuck M.V.P., the 2016 Skateboarder You’d Be Least O.K. With Your Daughter Dating, whose stolen passport was likely auctioned off to gypsies at MACBA for €20 and a bag of dirt.

As a bonus, we compiled all of @dutchmasterdelaney’s Instagram videos from the trip into one convenient clip. Give him a follow because every IG video that man makes is truly a work of art. Favorite editor in skateboarding right now.

Couldn’t upload it to YouTube because Travis Scott is a cop.

Our new capsule with Nike SB releases on Thursday, October 13 in skate shops worldwide. It includes a special, #lowkey colorway of the Bruin Hyperfeel, a heavyweight longsleeve pocket tee, and a Lamborghini of a wool coach jacket that exudes grown and sexy confidence. Thanks Ripped Laces for the love

Skateboarding in 2016 is a strange place, and this early 2000s nostalgia is really hitting critical mass man. Whatever incarnation of Osiris still exists re-added Tyrone Olson and Peter Smolik to their team, a year after Smolik aired out the company for denying him a snow camo Navigator and pushing Slimer-colored footwear. “The Storm already passed homie, let’s get the hurricane on and the tornado.” I don’t know dude.

Jesse Alba put together an eight-minute montage that has some cool Max footage.

HD video blog #23 via Johnny Wilson and the L.E.S. Park.

Got a good laugh out of the 5050 on the table attempt at Wall Street Gap. The new edition of Lurk NYC’s “New York Times” outtake reel is now live.

The Bunt’s new one is with Eggs mayor, Brian Delaney.

Mitch Swongo and Associates” is the new one from the Western Mass boys, sure to get you feeling romantic about skating a high curb in a suburban bank parking lot. Includes Ben Bartle footage

They saved Black Blocks. Shout out Atlanta, fuck John Street and Mike Nutter.

On that note, this video is legitimately a bit heartbreaking to watch at points. Chris Mulhern put together a recent montage of Philly skating, which includes footage of people skating the rubble left behind during the Love Park demolition.

Memory Screened did an incredible remix vid of varial flip god, Tim O’Connor. (Leaving him off our 2013 varial flip study is one of the greatest oversights in QS history.)

“Danny Brady got NO swag. He’s also the team manager, so I’m probably gonna get kicked off for saying that.” Jenkem interviewed the perpetually viral Jamal Smith.

Here’s a chill “Summer Trip to New York” vid from Brixton’s BMT squad.

Kingpin has some photos of that Spanish plaza from last week, in addition to a full #listicle of the best skatepark in Europe that’s good for killing five minutes.

Yesterday, we were talking about how much American currency it would take for us to attempt a caveman boardslide on the rail that goes down from the middle stage at House of Vans. This guy crooked grinded it.

Is it weird this is my fav Gucci verse since he got out? It’s ~playful~ n ~silly~. Also, this came on shuffle the other day and its still sick. “No sneakers, I’m wearing creatures.”

QS Sports Desk Play of the Week: Basketball is back! Who throws a shoe?

Quote of the Week:

kebabs-on-hooker-lane

This part is way less ledge dance-y than I remember it. It’s more bump-to-cans and bump-to-fences than anything, and surprisingly #current in that regard. The song is still the worst rap song in a skate video ever unless someone skated to Wale.
