Given the timestamp on Tim Anderson’s Bobshirt interviews, you might expect to find a somewhat definitive “Five Favorite Parts” of the 1990s here. However, the Five Faves selection process isn’t easy and that filter proved too tough even for one of the decade’s most reliable scholars. Tim’s enthusiasm for skate videos also extends beyond that perceived “golden era.” (Although, Tim confirmed that Gino Iannucci in Trilogy and Dick Rizzo in Mother would have ranked.)

Quartersnacks has, on occasion, turned to our fellow media nodes for “Five Favorite Parts.” It’s a fun spin on the format, but this installment comes further out of left field, honing in on Tim’s favorite introductory sections from skate videos.

Anthony Pappalardo the Writer interviewed Amy Ellington about KCDC, twenty years in Williamsburg, and running the longest-operating female-owned skate shop in the United States. (Also a former employer of the aforementioned Keith!)

WOW2G is a new 22-minute video by Eighty Twenty, Hell World, and the Travel Skateshop family. Half-New York, half-Jersey spots. Aron Moloney (first full part) and Derek Thor (second-to-last part) both crush it. The pinches on those switch front crooked grinds!

Long distance relationships are never easy, and to help soothe the heartache, Jesse Alba made a full surprise Nolan Benfield part with cameos from Cyrus ‘n them.

The full, 38-minute NY/NJ-based Sportsmanshit video is now live via Skate Jawn. A lot of “totally forgot about that spot”-reactions watching this one. Very fun, the whole way through :)

The world isn’t off to the best start in 2020, so you’d be well advised to watch this uplifting video about two Afghan girls who moved to Berlin from a refugee camp, and completely fell in love with skateboarding there. Lovingly put together by our friends at Place.

When’s FedEx dropping their video?

“Back then it was all a blur.” Yo these Bobshirt interviews are all so special. The latest installment is with Rodney Torres and is loaded with nineties New York nostalgia and stories, e.g it pretty much mentions three decades worth of skate shops in the city, and harks back to a time when New York coverage was limited to a montage here and there every couple years in a bigger video. (Also #lol on this YouTube comment.)

The youth has good tre flips. “Practice” is a very rad homie video by Cesar Fuentes featuring a bunch of up and coming skaters from The Bronx.
