Spots: Uptown Manhattan — Harlem & Morningside
Spot: Perhaps the most absurd spot in the entire Quarter Snacks Spot Directory, but in many ways, the very definition of the phrase “retarded New York spot,” which seems to get stretched to the limits more and more each year. The banks are small concrete blocks positioned at the bottom of each post of the above subway station. They are ridiculously steep, each about four feet wide, four feet high, and best of all, in the middle of Broadway. Watch out for the little rocks cluttered around all over the bottoms of each bank.
Bust — ♦ / Rare: Thankfully, nobody is going to bother you for skating in the middle of the street here. You might get hit by a car if you’re not careful though.
Location: 125th Street and Broadway. Take the 1 to 125th Street and walk downstairs.
