Lincoln Park

Spots: New Jersey — Newark

Spot: Your typical retarded, northeastern skate spot. This thing has seen better days since it last appeared in a handful of videos in the mid-2000s, as the ground around it has gotten in worse shape from a few long winters. It’s a short, brick bump-to-bump, sitting on top of a curb in the middle of the street. It’s not easy to skate, but you could potentially better your case by cheating and bringing a metal sign or a short piece of wood.

Bust — ♦ / Rare: You’re not going to get kicked out of here, but you will need to wait for the light to turn red before each try.

Location: Clinton Avenue and Lincoln Park in Downtown Newark. Take the A, C, E, 2 or 3 train to World Trade Center–Chambers Street. Transfer onto a Newark bound PATH train and take it to Newark (last stop, 25 minute ride of Manhattan.) Walk outside of Newark Penn Station, make a left on McCarter Highway, and skate south for 10-12 blocks until you hit Chestnut Street (McDonald’s on the corner.) Make a right on Chestnut, and skate west for three blocks, until you see the park. Follow the road along the far side of the park (not Broad Street) for a block, until you reach the southwestern corner. The bump will be in the middle of the street.
