Jersey City Post Office

Spots: New Jersey — Jersey City

Spot: The post office is, far and away, the most skated spot in all of Jersey City. It features a two-up, four-down marble platform that could be used for either a trick-up/trick-down line or as a manual pad. Down the other end is an identical set-up, except there is a five set on one end and a seven set on the other end. All of the steps have perfect runways and landings, and are slightly smaller than you come to expect sets of seven or five to be. Otherwise, around the side of the building there is a thigh-high ledge ascending upwards and waxed the whole way.

Bust — ♦♦ / Occasional: The post office closes around 5 P.M., and is free to skate after then and on weekends.

Location: Washington Street and Montgomery Street in Downtown Jersey City / Paulus Hook. Take the A, C, E, 2 or 3 train to World Trade Center. Transfer onto a Newark bound PATH train. Take it to Exchange Place (first stop, 5 minute ride from the city.) Upon exiting the station, skate east on Montgomery for for three blocks. The spot is on the corner of Washington, on the left/south side.
