Spots: New Jersey — Jersey City
Spot: Underneath the tallest building (yeah finance!) in the great state of New Jersey, is this amazing spot, that conveniently has two, very important detractors from it: one being it is an insane bust and the other is that it is fairly well maintained, so when you don’t happen to get kicked out in five minutes, whatever ledge you waxed or broke-in gets sandblasted within by the end of the week.
Alongside the promenade are several sets of steps, including a three-up-three-down, a standalone four, and a standalone five. There is an assortment of short step up ledges that are under three feet in length and can be approached from a below ledge. There are some marble ledged dispersed throughout, but they are bent with the defect of being on choppy ground.
The overall standout obstacle is probably a fifteen-foot-long, four-foot-wide manual pad off a three-stair, but your chances of actually receiving enough time to pull a trick off on it are slim.
Bust — ♦♦♦♦ / Very Likely: Normally, unless you are really careful in dodging all the security windows, or you come really late, you will get kicked out in under ten minutes. Don’t even think of coming here during the daytime unless you’re willing to skate here in the dead of winter when the security guards don’t bother patrolling the outside area.
Location: Hudson Street and Morris Street in the Paulus Hook section of Jersey City, near Liberty State Park. Take the A, C, E, 2 or 3 train to World Train Center. Transfer onto a Newark or Hoboken bound PATH train, and take it to Exchange Place (the first stop / five minute ride from the city.) Once you exit the PATH station, make a left and skate south along the promenade towards the tallest building you see (there are only like three or four buildings to your left, heading south.) The spot is at the end of the promenade.
