Spots: Midtown Manhattan — Theater District / Times Square Area

Spot: The plaza in front of this building was remodeled in 2005, removing a lot of the more recognizable obstacles that made their way into magazines throughout the nineties. With the remodeling, came a massive influx of security, that has not really let up since, so you’re strictly on a covert mission tip if you happen to want to get a trick on any of the ledges here.

The obstacles directly on Sixth Avenue are not even worth mentioning — you will get kicked out the second you ollie onto a ledge in that portion of the spot because it is where security typically posts up. The only things you can skate are on the sides of the buildings, which contain black marble ledges that ascend on a gradual slope, with no end. They are typically a foot-and-half in height, and grow another foot at the top. Most of them require a curve in when gathering speed, but nothing too off-putting.

Bust — ♦♦♦♦♦ / Almost Immediate: Spot out where security is, and circumvent them on your way in. They are typically only on Sixth Avenue, so if you stick to the sides of the buildings, you may be able to squeeze in a quick session before they come dashing over to throw you out. Otherwise, if you skate the front? Yeah, three seconds.

Location: 49th Street and Sixth Avenue. Take the B, D, F or V train to 47th Street-Rockerfeller Center, and the spot is literally right outside of the station.
