Baruch College

Spots: Midtown Manhattan — Gramercy, Kips Bay & Murray Hill

Spot: Good old UCLA. Well, the other UCLA. As in, The University on the Corner of Lexington Avenue.

In front of the building, you’ll find a series of ledges in all shapes, sizes and materials. The bottom level is made out of marble and the top is rougher, concrete-like material e that is a bit more suitable for slides. The height ranges from a foot to two feet. Some of the ledges extend over grates below trees, insofar as you are not six-foot-six (you’ll probably hit your head on the above trees that way) and others are wide enough for manual tricks. There also a low ledge that extends over a two stair towards the end.

Bust — ♦♦♦♦ / Very Likely: A night spot, the whole way. Even then, it is best to avoid skating past the front window that rests in the middle of the block. Keep your sessions confined to the ends of each block, and you may get a decent bit of time in.

Location: 25th Street and Lexington Avenue in the Murray Hill area. Take the 4, 5 or 6 to 23rd Street and skate north on Lexington for two blocks.
