Spots: Downtown — Financial District
Update — September 18, 2010: This is super late, but worth mentioning if you had some insane idea that involved going out of your way to come downtown solely for the purpose of skating this spot. The building installed truck-nut-sized metal caps all over the edges of the step, so it is not really possible to skate anymore. A few have been knocked out, so that should be a decent indicator in regards to the strength of their installation.

Spot: As far as Philly steps go, this place is about as close as you can get to perfection. There’s no cellar door in the way, rough ground, and its not outside of someone’s house or a part of a church. However, it is on Wall Street, which should be a quick indicator of the fact that it is nearly impossible to skate during the day. The step itself is about two feet high and five feet long, but you can also skate the lower levels if you are inclined to do so. It sits on a very slight hill, and atop a smooth sidewalk surface, without any sort of cracks getting in your way. It is only approachable frontside for regular / backside for goofy.
Bust — ♦♦♦ / Half-and-half: This is a night spot, but the building has been known to kick you out if they get complaints. Even on weekends, the place is flooded with tourists and you will still find the entire block very hectic.
Location: Wall Street and Hanover Street, several blocks east of the Stock Exchange. Take the 2 or 3 train to Wall Street and skate one block east. It is just past the Cipriani on the south side of the street.
