Spots: Downtown — Financial District

Spot: Along with the Bond Street Gap, this is the only street gap that is heavily skated throughout Manhattan. It doesn’t have the same, high-curb to low-curb advantage as Bond Street does, but is a fairly workable distance. Unlike say, Philadelphia, New York doesn’t have a plethora of very narrow, old streets, so street gaps tend to be rare. It extends about six-and-a-half to seven feet from curb-to-curb, has ample smooth sidewalk runway, and a pretty good concrete landing. Just be aware of cars occasionally coming down/up the block.
Bust — ♦ / Rare: You will not get kicked out of anything there is to skate here, but there is heavy pedestrian traffic near the street gap if you happen to stop by during working hours. So come either on a weekend or at night.
Location: Exchange Plaza and Trinity Place. (Contrary to the name of the spot, it is not on Wall Street.) Take the R or W to Rector Street and skate one block south on Trinity Place. The gap is on the east side of the street.
