Spots: Downtown Manhattan — Financial District
Spot: A spot unlike any other, with a bust factor to accompany it unlike any other. Here you’ll find a series of mini double sets: several of which are two-flat-two, and several others that are two-flat three. They have a perfect marble runway and a sidewalk landing with a crack approximately four feet after you land. It is manageable, but worth noting. Also in front of the building is bank like structure with a segment taken out of the middle, so you can gap from the top to bottom portion of it. There are several marble benches, but nobody comes here to skate those.
Bust — ♦♦♦♦♦ / Almost Immediate: It is nearly impossible to skate 99-percent of the time during reasonable hours. You could try your luck during the day or early evening, but like most Battery Park spots, it is best either really late at night or very early in the morning. The spot has also been known to grant more time when the doormen in front are preoccupied with loading buses and unloading guests’ luggage in front of the spot, which happens quite often, seeing how its a hotel. Otherwise, it is a “throw your board down, and hope for a few tries” sort of spot.
Location: Little West Street and Battery Place. Take the 4 or 5 to Bowling Green and skate west on Battery Place, past the Westside Highway Entrance, and the spot is right on the side of the Ritz Carlton Hotel.
