Spots: Downtown Manhattan — Financial District

Spot: Although this spot’s reign as one of the prime (and few) rail spots downtown ended many years ago when they became skatestopped, the stairs are still some of the better sets downtown. There’s several seven sets, all with about thirty-five feet of smooth marble sidewalk runway on top of the curb, but you could always ollie up and gather more speed from the street. In front, there’s a twelve set with infinite runway, although you have to curve in about twenty feet before you reach the actual steps. Right by the twelve, there’s also an eight set, with a curve-in about 15 feet before the steps. Running down the sides of the building, there are several marble ledges without ends, which ascend as the hill goes down.

Bust — ♦♦♦ / Half-and-half: As long as you avoid skating the steps closest to the security windows it should be a while before you get kicked out. It is best to come here on a weekend or at night, considering it is downtown Manhattan and there are loads of people walking around during business hours.

Location: Cortlandt Street and Broadway in the Financial District. Take the A, C, 2 or 3 to World Trade Center and the spot is right outside. If not, look for the tall, all black building, and it’s right below.
