Thomas Greene Park

Spots: Brooklyn — Other Neighborhoods

Spot: Thomas Greene Park is an initiative by the city to take seldom used public spaces, in this case, a typically empty Carroll Gardens basketball court, and put skateable objects in there so we have places to go without getting hassled. This park is spacious, and positioned on well-paved asphalt. It contains a low manual pad, a bench with one curved side and one straight side, and a triangular up-ledge structure that also doubles as an up-down manual pad.

Bust — ♦ / Rare: The place is designated for skateboarding, so you will not get kicked out. However, it could get crowded on weekdays after school, or on nice days throughout the summer.

Location: 3rd Avenue & Degraw Street in Park Slope / Carroll Gardens. Take the D, N or R to Union Street, skate north for two blocks, and make a left on Degraw.
