Spots: Brooklyn — Other Neighborhoods
Spot: The museum knobbed a handful of the better benches here in 2009. People knocked them out over time, but the detriment of the spot, took some sizable chunks out of the marble along with it. The edges were already pretty worn in, so the chunks only worsened the situation. Thus, the available marble benches are better suited for slides, and not grinds. They are positioned about ten feet before a curb, so people have been known to do grind-to-manual tricks. There are also a handful of lower marble ledges that were not knobbed, and a fountain structure that is off during the summer, bordered by a two-foot-high flatrail.
Bust — ♦♦♦ / Half-and-half: There have been stories about people getting arrested for skating here, so be careful. Usually, it’s best to stay to the corners of the spot, which are further away from the front windows near security. It’s a night/evening spot, but even then, security may come out and tell you to beat it if they happen to make the rounds.
Location: Eastern Parkway and Washington Avenue, on the border of Prospect Heights and Crown Heights. Take the 2, 3 or 4 to Eastern Parkway-Brooklyn Museum, and it is right outside.
