Spots: Brooklyn — Downtown & Fort Greene

Spot: This is the prototypical Brooklyn spot that you would not find on the other side of the East River. The ledge is approached from a two-foot wide marble ledge that gradually descends down into the street. Right before it turns into a major slope, runs a two-foot high concrete ledge that gradually turns into a steep slope / bank of its own and allows you to ride down it once you pop out of whatever grind or slide you are doing on it. Make sure you bring wax because it usually needs it. Otherwise, you could skate over the highway barrier that runs next to it into a pretty mellow bank, insofar as you don’t mind waiting in Brooklyn Bridge U-turn traffic between every try.
Bust — ♦ / Rare: You won’t get kicked out of here.
Location: Front Street and Dock Street right under the Brooklyn Bridge in Dumbo / Downtown Brooklyn. Take the F train to York Street, skate north (towards the water, downhill) on Jay Street for one block, make a left on Front Street, and skate west on Front Street, past the Manhattan Bridge, until you see the Brooklyn Bridge. It is directly underneath.
