Spots: Brooklyn — Downtown & Fort Greene
Spot: In front of the main Brooklyn Post Office / Federal Office Building, you will find a very mellow granite bank that you need to ollie up to. It could be skated either as a manual pad, a generic bank or as a means for propping yourself up on the wall beside it or the few-inch-high curb at the top. Above it is a three-foot high rail that you could skate over into the bank if you have the pop for it. There’s also a hubba ledge running parallel to the slope of the bank that people have managed to skate.
Otherwise, there’s a couple of granite ledges on the other side, and some steps that aren’t really worth going out of the way for.
Bust — ♦♦ / Occasional: Typically, if you come here after 8 P.M. or on a weekend, you should not get kicked out.
Location: Cadman Plaza and Tillary Street in Downtown Brooklyn, next to Cadman Plaza Park. Take the M, R, 2 or 3 to Jay Street–Borough Hall. Skate north through Cadman Plaza / Columbus Park / Court Street, and the post office is at the end of the park.
